Hello everybody,

I'm looking to buy my first set of bagpipes and I was wondering what company or make I should look for. I've been playing the chanter for a few years, and I'm anxious to move on to the real thing. I'm looking for a very high quality set of pipes that look and sound great. What names would you guys recommend?

I would suggest going to a local stockist/ maker with a reputable history., DO NOT go and buy any pakistani ones as they are very hard to tune( plaiting sawdust comes to mind) You can pay around 550 to 700 pounds for a decent set. If any of your mates play , ask to try theirs and go from there
