One of my favorite scary movies was FEAR.COM, basic storyline for those that haven't seen it is that there are multiple people dying of some unknown cause in the same way... The police investigate and find out that all the victims have visited the same website; Fear.com, in the last week... I'd tell more but it would probably ruin the ending for those who haven't seen it..... Needless to say, I was terrified of going online for a couple days after watching that movie.

I still get a chill from watching Silence of the Lambs. That Hannibal Lector really freaks me out ! Fava beans anyone ?

The Grudge was the most ridicolous and hard to follow movies that I have ever sat through.
Sure its creepy but its a rental for sure. It doesnt really do much for the truth of paranormal other than the psychical disturbance of a location and what emotional imprints can do.
I really can't tell you what its about other than a traumatic experience happened in a house and people are dying. Not that I don't want to spoil it for you but rather I don't understand the movie.

Mine would be the NEW Texas Chain Saw movie. That, and that 1,000 corpses one.

Might have well been - but I had to hold my best friend's hand through the entire film. lol Films that are more psychological than bloody scare the hell out of me. I can't say I particularly like any of them. Actually I thought the others was not so much scary - but pretty good.

As a whole, I'm usually disappointed by "scary movies" because I don't get all that scared by them in the long run. Although I was pleasantly surprised by how psychological The Mothman Prophecies was. There were a ton of movies that creeped me out bad when I was younger, but now I can watch them and only certain scenes or characters get to me.
Probably the movies that freak me out the most are the Halloween series. "Michael Meyers" is just ... wrong.
The Lady in White is eerie.
The Watcher in the Woods is pretty good, too. Still amazes me that it's a Disney movie - and they showed it to us in school in 5th grade!
"Zelda" in Pet Semetary still makes me cringe. As does "Gaige" when he comes back - "No fair, daddy. No fair." is just chilling in the way the line is delivered.
The scene in The Exorcist:The Beginning (the re-release version) that "Raegan" comes down the stairs in the crab walk sends chills down my spine. (Especially the sound effect they use! I have to mute it!)
The way "The Tooth Fairy" in Darkness Falls moves is so unnatural it's frightening.
And the girl who comes out of the TV in The Ring is pretty trippy.
I still occassionally have night terrors with characters similar to "Kane" from Poltergeist II and Poltergeist III.
And I still blame Tim Curry's portrayal of "Pennywise" in Stephen King's It for my distrust of clowns.

YAY!!! Did you know they actually released it on DVD, too? I've got it on VHS, too. Luckily, my cousin bought a video store a few years ago and they had that in the stock - and she let me buy it since no one had rented it in years. =)

The Watcher in the Woods is a good flick, but still didnt scare me. In fact I have only ever saw one movie that has ever did that, the original Psycho. Ever since I saw that when I was like nine, I have always locked the bathroom door when I take a shower. I still to and I'm tweny-six now. :D

I can't believe nobody mentioned "The Exorcist". That movie scares the hell out of me. I can't wait to see "The exorcism of emily rose" too.
