I was very happy to discover this site. I looked around for things about Hinkley, but didnt find any. The home my family moved to was over 100 years old, we had to renovate and all sleep in the living room for some time. It had been some kind of boarding house at one time. I have many stories of the things that went bump in the night, all night, and on a very regular basis. It even made a believer out of my father, the most stubborn sceptic Ive ever met. A few actual sightings of two seperate entities, many things moving around, foot steps heard, laughter, the sound of children rough housing ( got me and my brother into trouble many times), phone ringing in the middle of the night with terrible messages once answered ( no one had this happen to them other than my mother), an unplugged radio suddenly blasting 70s music through out the upstairs at 1 in the morning.. the list goes on... from what I know of hauntings, the activity in this home was unusually high. I did, while helping my folks renovate the walls, find a childs letter writting kit, in it was a letter about the brother of the writers death of consumption.

( I still have the kit, but lost the actual letter years ago in a basement flood)

This might explain the sound of rough housing at odd times of the night.

I have wondered if this house would ever be investigated..

Interesting story. Of course you know about the fires and what not in Hinckley quite some time ago correct?

I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
