Title: The Paranormal and Academics
Description: Looking for paranormal education

I live in Minnesota and am seeking information on how to obtain a career in the paranormal. Where is a good place to start? Are there any schools in the twin cities that I can attend that would provide a good education in the paranormal? If there are no schools in the Twins Cities are there any online schools?
If anyone has any information on this subject please let me know.
Thank you!!!

I'd hate to break the news to you but you really cannot get a career in the field of the paranormal unless you check out the JB Rhine Institute. And that has not a whole lot to do with ghosts but rather psychical study.
Most college courses deal with parapsychology which deals a lot more with ESP, PK, and the mental telepathy thing. I dont know how much you could do with one of those degrees.

Thank you for the reply. I guess what I'm mostly looking for is something a job even that has to do with the paranormal, parapsychology, voodoo, etc. I have a wide spectrum of interests that relate to the unexplained. I'm just bored with what I'm currently doing and thus far these things have been what interest me most. So even if a career is not possible (I admit that sounded a bit naive) I just want to be involved in something I like. I'd at least like to pursue this interest before I give it up for something like Patent Law, Biology, or Archeology.

Find a degree that can be used for your particular interest in the paranormal. There is no specific degree you can get but you surely can get close to the paranormal by selecting a normal college degree.
If you like hauntings, check into getting a history degree. If you like digging up the mysteries of Egypt, try archealogoy, if you like psychic abilities, try for a degree in psychology, etc.
It takes creativity to work your learning material of the accepted sciences to coexist your interest with the paranormal on a daily basis. In high school, I applied every course I had to the paranormal. Spanish was a course that I looked into cryptozoology's Chupacabra, psychology was where I addressed the class and teacher of RSPK and ESP abilities, and history was a place that I learned to research past events which I know use for my group's investigations.
And of course, English was a great course because it gave me a chance to write about the subject material that I loved and public speaking gave me the ability to talk about it to large crowds.
But don't just go into a subject material thinking that you will only be able to focus on the subject material of the paranormal. It takes a lot of work and cooperation from the instructor to be able to do what I was able to do in high school.
If you cannot get a degree that relates to the paranormal, do what most people do and find a group close to you or start up a new one. This way at least part of your daily life is contributed to working with that of the paranormal.
Good luck to you and I hope everything works out.

I like your idea, I think I will dig deeper in to the subjects I'm most interested in. I don't mind pushing professors.
Do any groups do "internships/apprenticeships"?
Thank you for all of your suggestions.
