Title: Ghosts for sale on eBay
Description: What I bid for what not what I got.

Last year I purchased an old copy of Dante's Divine Comedy off of eBay for dirt cheap. It's in beautiful condition and the pictures are amazing, I'm quite attached to it. The only problem is, so is the previous owner. A few months ago I noticed a shadow standing at the end of the hallway in my apartment, just hanging out and watching things. I didn't bother it, it didn't bother me. But over time it has gotten much more solid and left the corner where it first showed up.
The ghost is a gentleman, I refuse to give him a name because I don't want to encourage him to contact me any more than he already has. He's harmless enough, coming into my room at night, I think to read his book, and watching me sleep. I do wake up on occasion when he's in there, ask him to leave so that I can get some sleep, and he obeys without protest.
Last night he was standing in my doorway and scared the pants off of me while I was getting into bed because I hadn't expected to see him there. But all in all I am willing to share my home with this man who is so attached to his book. I encourage him to pass so that he can go about being reborn as another person but he seems quite content where he is right now.

Interesting story. I hear a lot about spiritual attachment to the objects in life here.
However you are quite lucky the man is quite harmless. I have heard other cases that arent as lucky as yours.
Perhaps, he hasnt finished reading his book?

I'd be tempted to read the book aloud so he could hear it. :);)

Very interesting. Even if he decides to "pass", it may not make a difference concerning being recycled. I have a theory that many of these ghosts are actually the self-powered and animated astral form that is no longer needed and is sloughed off at the time of death. In many cases, like this one, this form is imbued with some elements of the living personality, but not the spirit of the person who once walked the Earth.
According to my idea, this type of creature should eventually fade away as its power source goes dim or it is no longer able to sustain itself. Ideally, it should fade back into what it came from much like our bodies after death as it is merely an interface for the spirit to operate the body.
