Description: share thoughst and ideas

nwmps - November 12, 2005 04:17 AM (GMT)
Hello,
being as the original plans for the Minnesota ghost conference have fallen through.. maybe we can plan something here.. post your thoughts and ideas on this it doesnt have to be anything fancey or anything just a chance to meet up have fun share stories etc etc.

Old Soul - November 12, 2005 04:49 AM (GMT)
That is a very good idea.

Let's find the most central location from all of us who would like to come. Once a city is located, we can find a site where we could meet and perhaps do an investagation too.

Even if we just have a picnic and then go to a cemetery after would be fun. It would give us all a chance to meet and exchange ideas and discoveries.

How about it everyone?????????

i think that sounds like a great idea. I think a conference would be awesome. How did this fall threw? Could it be reschedueled? Basically I think itd be cool to just start out with a few speakers then just all sit around and talk and stuff but content would be the biggest issue unless we were to figure out something else to do. id assume someplace like st. cloud would be best cause its kinda in the middle but im just kinda throwing ideas out there

mnpsg_adam - November 12, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
I was talking to the Midnite Walkers about this and Mel was pretty much by herself in organizing this and a lot of things fell through for personal reasons of the speakers and so forth.

She basically had a starting point and then lost it.

midnitewalkers - November 13, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
Reason conference fell through was i had some speakers lined up but because of death and other personal reason's they not able to come. I was not able to find any replacements. I couldn't put location and other speaker on hold anymore waiting for me to find more.

Place i had set up was pretty much Centrally located, Sauke Centre, The Palmer House.

It was going to cost $10.00 a person just to get in door there, this also includes a meal. If we wanted to do something free in this location there is some nice outside park locations. There couple state parks and one little park which was once a town.

nwmps - November 14, 2005 04:17 AM (GMT)
cool .. We dont absolutly haaave to have speakers

squirrelgardensMN - November 16, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
Can anyone come to the convention....or do you have to be part of an investigation group or team?

I am a lone ranger out here in Duluth.

mnpsg_adam - November 16, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
I am not sure how this is going but I would assume that almost anyone could go and meet the teams from around the state.

Medusa - November 16, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
I'd be happy with just a get together somewhere so we could all meet up. There's a group of people from a festival I work at that have a once a month get together in Maple Grove for whoever wants to come. They talk about it online and see who's all going so that someone doesn't wind up being the only one there, but it works pretty good.

Anyone interested in something like this? Doesn't have to even be once a month, just once in awhile to connect in person, share stories, ect.

luckylucci - November 19, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
I'd be interested in something informal. I'd love to hear other's stories and advice! I don't have much info to offer, seeing I'm a scaredy-cat and would rather listen to other's stories!!! :D
Unfortunately my already tight schedule is only getting tighter next semester. But if I'm free I'd love to attend something like this!

Yes....this would be great. Do not know any other paranormals or sensitives in Duluth. Makes for a very loooooooooong winter.

Old Soul - November 19, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
Oh that is a good idea.

Mini meetings could be fun.

I wouldn't mind hosting a meeting at my house. This way with times the way it is, we wouldn't have to worry about buying some expensive meal. I could have some snacks and sandwiches, we all could bring photos and talk about various hunted locations and experiences and perhaps set up some kind of outing for those who would like to do something interesting after the meeting.

I have 2 cemeteries by me that we could go to after and take some photos. If this is a go, I will see if I can get permission to go to the old cemetery with the school/church that we all could go to.

I'd love to go to hear stories and share ideas and just meet people in the area with a common interest. I think that would be very cool. :)

squirrelgardensMN - November 30, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
Old Soul.....

That is very kind of you to offer your home. Perhaps all could pitch in or potluck to save money. Gas prices what they are, no one would be excluded because of cost.

luckylucci - December 1, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
I think that'd be fun! And I love to cook for potlucks!
Where exactly is Jordan?

Hi Everyone,

Jordan is located between the twin cities and mankato, it's almost a half way point. I live right off 169, 1 block. Joe and I have a computer in the living room and we could use it to view photos from a memory stick, and of course I have a tv and vcr/dvd for those who have movie clips you would like to show. Bringing a pot luck also sounds like fun. I would love to meet everyone and exchange idea's and experiences.

Kathy

nwmps - December 10, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
Ok lets first of all set a date ... like next summer or spring sometime.. like May or June on a Saturday.. How about June 24th? i just picked a Saturday in june it doesnt matter to me which is better.

The lets set a site and begin work on what events we will have.. I dont know if alot of people would feel comfortable in sombodys house.
I think a central location would be like St. coudish area there are quite a few well known hauntings around there also.
Maybe we could book a hotel conference room for Saturday.
we could have a pot luck and chit chat maybe if anyone wants to speak we could have that then. Then Sat evening we could swarm a local haunt.
Maybe meet again on Sunday afternoon and see what was found.

Just throwing some ideas out there tell me what ya think..

Old Soul - December 11, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
Dan I was just throwing an idea out for small informal meetings. inbetween a larger formal meeting.

I offered my home becouse it's easy to get to and can hold about 15 people easly. Joe and I are friendly and welcome vistors any time, I am sure many of you are like that too.

This group is spread out all over the state, and mini meeting will help to get to know each other who live close to one another.

A formal get together is a great idea too. Midnight walker had mentioned that where she had planed would cost 10.00 each person with 2 parks located near by and it's in the center of the state, which is great.

I had also earlier suggested a get together in a park, that also would be a nice informal get together.

So the ideas are out there....... now we just need some to stand up and take action and set something up.

mnpsg_adam - December 15, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
I wouldnt suggest an investigation for all the teams as that could cause problems with others methods as well as cramming a place. Our group has found that in our research, we get better results in smaller groups.

We'd almost have to alternate in and out of the location and I am not sure that the spirits would approve too much of that with a bunch of random strangers showing up in 15 minute intervals.

Old Soul - December 15, 2005 04:53 AM (GMT)
Funny you should say that.

I have noticed that the spirits wher I have been going seem to need a little time to get to know you first before they show themselves on the film. Specially the German cemetery. It took them a long time before they decided to show me even an orb. I did have the feeling of them being close by me but nothing would show up on film. When they finally did show themselves, I brought a friend along so she could try to take some photos, and it seems they were very curious about us, even followed us down the road. They were nice enought to show up on her photos. But your right, they might not appreacate a bunch of strangers comming in to take photos, after all the cemetery is not a zoo, it is the spirits home and we are visitors there.

Hey I would LOVE to host everyone at my haunted house! Im in Mayer right off of a major highway 7. It would be fun to have mini meetings when ever someone is available and possibly meet at different hosted houses. EVERY town has cemeteries we could all visit! Let me know if I can help start planning something! I love to organize! I did my 15 and 20 year class reunions single handidly! Ü I drive to Jordan every day too so perhaps we can get together with this! Let me know!

midnitewalkers - December 15, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
I agree on large group. But what about a location large enough for large group? Just outside of Alex there is out door park that was once location of an town and isn't there anymore. It's now a part to contribute to the town. It's called Spruce Hill. There is alot of area and picinic area's for Pot Luck. Not to mention wouldn't have to worry about having everyone chip in to get in the door etc.

here site about it. http://www.co.douglas.mn.us/spruce_hill_park.htm

Place isn't known to be haunted but does have alot of history. Even if we didn't want do investigation there could be good meeting place.

Just a thought

I would love to hostess a haunted get together at my home! Pot lucks are a blast! Casual yet cozy and every town has a cemetery or 2! Hope we can get something rolling! Ü How many people are we talking at one get together? A monthly house get together alternating areas sounds like fun!!!!!!

Old Soul - December 17, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
I think both ideas are great!!

Midnightwalker has come up with a interesting idea as to where to go for a large meeting. the area once had a small village there, village means people lived died loved cryed in other words lived...... and we all know that spirits do visite the site of where thier home used to be, so who knows what we might find there......Hey look at Ft. Snelling for example, didn't know it had spirits there did you????

I don't see any reason why we couldn't have mini meetings at our homes too while we waite for the big meeting. We are spread put all over the state, and we could meet up in small groups at peoples homes who are near each other. How about if we start setting this up after the holidays?

I would be very interested in joining in with this, I think it would bereally fun to meet all of You ,and listen to all the stories.

Fydget - January 9, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
I'm excited for whatever event is decided upon. I think for a 'conference' where the minnesota paranormal community is invited out for somehting more formal - that needs to be held in a larger neutral place. However I'm all for 'meetings' in between here and there too! I'd love to go to either. If anyone wants help planning any of these or whatever - please let me know! I'd be happy to lend a hand!

If you plan it they will come...

large or small.....

Perhaps a committee of seasoned investigators and newbies alike should be formed with Adam to facilitate.

Just so sick of being the only sensitive that I know of in Duluth.

ScrambledValkyrie - January 24, 2006 06:20 AM (GMT)
I would adore it!

I live about a hour and a half from Mankato in southwest Minnesota. My sister and me are ghost nuts. :D

midnitewalkers - March 12, 2006 07:58 AM (GMT)
We have been trying to plan a Get Together 2nd Saturday of June, And thinking having it Potluck like Dan said.

Right now i been leaning toward the Spruce Hill County Park. I picked it because it's free to use. And it's nice quiet park out of way with nice picinic area.

If anyone has any other idea's on locations let me know.

or if know of better date. We picked this day as it's between holidays and may be easier for those that have plans for holidays.

Your more welcome to help set this up. I just started it because we all talked about it. So i figured someone needed to step forward and start it if we want do it.

You can email me Mel@midnite-walkers.com with any idea's or suggestions.
