Title: Fort Snelling
Description: Is it hunted or Isn't it?
Old Soul - October 30, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
Before I left Joe said "You know I haven't heard anything about the fort being hunted." Thats what a number of people had told me. But I was determind to find out for myself and I put a call out to the members to see if anyone would like to help me check this area out. 2 members did.
To me, any place that has been around that long should have something there. There in the fort, people lived and died for over 100 years. The spirits may not be very active, but it dosn't mean that they don't come to visite every so often. It had been my experence that spooks pop up in various places. Not all of them are reported or known. Prime example of that was when I went to take photos of a reconstructed school house, I was taking photos to compair what the such a building would have looked like when it was new. There in one of my photos was a young girl or woman standing there. So one never knows where ghosts would be found.
I was very pleased to have met 2 wonderful ladies. Kenzie and Kristi. They were willing to give it a shot to see what we would come up with at the fort.
When we entered the compound, we were met with people in period dress. I asked the "Gard" if there was any activity here in the fort. We did find out that the officers quaters had had some activity. When we eventually reached that building I had asked one of the wokers which room was active in the officers quaters. We found out that it was the master bedroom. They would lock up for the night and at times in the morning they would find the bed all rumpled up. I asked if perhaps someone had broken in there to sleep and this wasn't the case as they have serity sencers throught out the buildings. I am familour with these sencers, the movement had to be so slowly as not to trigger the sencers. So that was very interesting.
For me the most active area was the upstairs bedroom, that was the only time in the fort where when I took my photos I got what I call sparkies. It's hard to explain what I mean by sparkies. The easest way to explain is when I take the photo with flash I see what looks like sparks. These don't show up on my photo but I have had experienced that when I see the sparkies I would get some kind of form. Here however I did get an orb, and what might look like a dog beside the bed.
Throughout the fort, I did get several orbs, yes yes, the fort is a dusty place and it could be dust, however in some of the rooms where it should have shown a lot of dust flying around I did not see any orbs.
I don't usally hold to much for orbs seeing that we really can not determind the diffrence between a dust orb and a spirit orb, but some times there are figures in the orbs. and I am not talking about "smily" faces. But full faces with a beard and all. I had captured several orbs, some see through, some soild, some tiny, some large.
So is the fort hunted or not? Do the spirits come to visite? It would be interesting to gather a team together and make aragements to look into it futher.

I'll send my more notables too - Tonight. I promise! Thanks for writing up the breifing Kathy! I had a great time and my impression is that I think there is something there. It was great to even just go there. It's a great gem of historical information and interesting even just on that front - the paranormal activity is just that much more.
Anyway I had a great time and I look forward to more opportunities to meet other ghost hunters!

I am looking into another outing.
I will post it when I have more information. I am hoping more people will be interested in joining in. I very much enjoyed meeting the 2 ladies I had met during this adventure.
Hopefully the next one will bring more results.

interesting stuff. I always kinda wanted to investigate that place. Were they pretty open when u mentioned paranormal things?

Some were that I had met. That's how I found out about the story of the officers quaters. The young man at the gate was the one who had told us that that place had some activity and there inside the man who played the butler told us what had happend with the bed in the master bedroom.
I think we could get in there during the night as long as we plan ahead inform them of what we want to do and pay for it.
I am looking into another location where we could do in the winter time. Once I see if they are responsive, I will put a call out to see if I can gather up a group.
