Title: Minneapolis Newbie

Hi group
I found this page through the TAPS page and message board. I am a big fan of that show and anything ghostie related so it's nice to find some like minded people a little closer to home.

I have seen/heard things throughout my life and have always been fascinated by anything paranormal. But recently (just over a year ago) moved into an old house (built 1897) and I believe it's got some activity. I've yet to catch anything on film or EVPs. But I just got a webcam, so maybe I'll be able to catch something there. If there is anything I think it's friendly. I've never felt scared or unsafe.

I heard that the bar downtown called Mackenzie's is haunted. I was told a great story about how there's a guy/ghost named "Sam" who lives in the basement. Apparently he was the owner when it was a speakeasy back in the '20s or '30s. I'd love to see him, but at the time I heard the story they wouldn't let me down there. :(

Is there anyone else near Minneapolis? I'm in the Uptown area.

Anyway, HI!

Oh and if anyone is on MySpace and wants to be my "Friend" the link is:

Hey! I live just north of minneapolis in St. Anthony Village. (About a 15 min drive to uptown) Welcome to the board!

I haven't heard of the bar you're talking about. I will certainly look it up!

Oh hey, yeah I know that area. Used to hang out a lot there when I was in college (at the U)

Here's the website for that bar:

It's a great place. Good beer :)

It's across from the State theater, next to the Orpheum (downtown mpls). We rented their upstairs for our wedding reception years ago. They treated us like royalty and that's when I heard the ghost stories. I keep meaning to go back. I've been there several times since, but have never asked to go to the basement.
