Title: Pink Noise

ParrotHeadRick - September 29, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
I know everyone or almost has used white noise has background but I am wondering if anyone has ever used pink noise and if they have, what, if any results did they get. I am going to try it sometime in the next couple of days and see what happens. I'll let you all know.

I have not used pink noise although i tested white and didnt notice an increase in evp's although its impossible to know if you get more or less anyways :P
I typicaly dont use any background noise while recording may be worth trying tho

I guess i am not positive what pink noise is i know they use it to test speakers and other audio equipment.

The very non-technical explanation of pink noise is a sound, a tone if you will. Like the tone you hear in a test pattern on TV is pink noise.

From a simple engineering standpoint, I can’t figure out the logic in using pink noise in this case since it is limited to energy at a particular frequency. If you don’t know what frequency you’re looking for something at, then you would want to use white noise, which is equal energy from every frequency.
