The following is a list of common causes for imitation anomalies.
Dust - Sometimes dust can cause false orbs to appear. So keep an eye on your surroundings if your in a dusty basement or barn try to take pictures with 35mm 400+ speed film just to confirm your digital pictures you have taken.
Reflection - off of any reflective surface this can cause false orbs or even streaks of light to appear in an otherwise darkened area. Make sure you examine the picture closely to look for mirrors or any flat surface that might beable to cast a reflection, also check the distance of your flash if something is lit up well beyond the flash section you could probley mark it off as paranormal.
Bugs - appear in various shapes in sizes within the range of the flash or night vision. You can usually tell a bug when you see one if you look at the image close enough this is basically up to the discretion of the person looking at it but once again look at the range of your flash.
People - seeing someone in the distance or in a dark corner of a room can give you a very spooky image that is nothing more then a normal thing. Make sure you Know where everybody is at in your team and make sure you dont have any onlookers or residence nearby.
Double Flash - hard to do but can yield interesting results this happens when someone else is taking a picture the same time or a little bit before you it lights up things that typically would remain dark and it gives it a particalarly interesting appeance. Make sure you take turns taking pictures and are just aware of what you are doing.
Distant Lights - someone with a flashlight or any other thing light emiting device can cause shadows/orbs/other paranormal looking anomilies. especially common in graveyards where lit up markers and reflectors are common just make sure you note where they are at so when you look at your pictures you can quickly and easily dismiss them.
Fog -fog is weird sometimes in low lying spots you can get fog that looks especially spooky specifically when in a dark graveyard. An easy one to rule out look at the weather information humidity and dewpoits and note if you see it in every low lying area.
Digital Darkness Pixelation - this is when your digital camera creates false orbs because of the low light situation. try to use a 35mm camera with 400 speed film to confirm pictures you take and note what your camera does in low light situations take some pictures at your house in the dark or outside and see what it does and if your getting orbs nearly everytime you take pictures in a low light situation odds are its probley your camera.
Foreign objects on lens or infront of it - Hair, fingers, lens covers, can all cause "paranormal" things to appear on film so be careful when you see something towards the edge of the photo make sure you look at it very carefully, make sure you use lens cleaners and keep your hair back and extreamadies away from the lens.
Please Note that there are more cause for "paranormal" pictures then just these listed here so please be on your guard when taking pictures and you can end up with conclusive evidence that skeptics would have a hard time disproving.
