Description: we thought she was gone, we were wrong

in the 1970's my grandpa's house was intensly haunted, my dad was instructed by an indian medicine man to burn insents, salt corners and crack window and to tell the spirit it was time to move on. he did this and for some 33 years there has been no ghostly activity. until recently my aunt and uncle and all of there kids were staying in the house, all of a sudden the hauntings start again. the only reason i can think of for the hauntings to start again, is that my aunt was rumaging through old things in the house and found some books from the 1800's and decided to take them.

we believe the ghost is a woman named irene who spent her whole life in solitude reading books died in the house during the early 1900's. all of the things that were disturbed were in the 3rd floor of the house that is used as storage/guest bedroom space. one night when my mom was sleeping on the second floor she heard alot of crashing around on the 3rd floor, and noone was sleeping up there at the time. my aunt was also harassed by the ghost. i had an encounter with it in the kitchen, i heard someone opening and closing cuboards in the kitchen, i asumed it was my uncle and walked in to talk to him and noone was there. i got this strange feeling, almost how you feel when you barge into a room and interupt someone and they just kinda stare at you as if to say "do you mind?"

any input as to why after 33 years a ghost would decide to make its presence known would be appreciated

Simply put. She is just looking for her books.

There was no need for her to be active during the time that her books were there. She went back to her "normal life" until your aunt had moved the books around and disrupted Irene's activities.

The best thing I can think of is to put the books back and see what happens.

I totally agree with Adam on this one...In fact he said everything I was thinking of saying!

Yea I'd have to agree with that to. Most likly the ghost is connected to the books and wants them put back . Either that or someone in the house now has a kind of connection to the ghost but I kind of doubt it since no one seems to be singled out by the ghost.
