Charm to Stop the Rains
Say aloud to the teeming skies:
Rain, rain go away,
Come again tomorrow day;
When I brew and when I bake
I'll give you a little cake.
If, in a while, it rains still, you must bake a little oaten cake and
leave it on your doorstep for the rain-spirit, for that will please our
Lady, who rules him. Bless the cake, and give it in great reverence.
When the moon's on its back in the winter skies, there'll be a nipping
frost, and air as cold s the shroud, while the stars will shine as if
washed with dew. When the moon-boat tilts in the spring, expect weather
fair and radiant as a bride, shining with a brightness and vivacity not
seen in any other season.
