Title: reality tv
Description: sucks =P
Dark_MooN - May 28, 2003 04:23 AM (GMT)
is it just me, or the millions of people who are so hooked into reality tv cannot see how fake those shows can be. bleah. imagine this new show, it was about a group of girls, trying to get this guy. And whoever wins will marry the guy and get a million dollars. ANd guess what, he doesn't know about the money!
DUH. Isang malaking DUH.
and there's this show about a group of guys trying to win this girl, and all of them wear masks. And the girl will choose the winner based on personality (no matter what he looks like inside the mask) and guess what, the titles of the show is "Mr. Personality". ooh! and the green mask guy is pulling hypnosis on the girl!
Puh-lease.
Are tv series producers and creators that low on their creative juices to at least make a show that would cater to any human being that doesnt have the IQ of an insect?

"Joe Millionaire"

shinta - May 29, 2003 01:17 AM (GMT)
Joe Millionare ba yun? The guy isn't even a millionare! Di ba construction worker lang sya?
IMHO, reality bites. I get tired of watching them (Survivor, Amazing Race, what was that dating game again? Ah, Temptation Island.) They're all the same banana to me.
Rogue - May 29, 2003 01:44 AM (GMT)
I don't watch those. They are just so lame . I mean , those dating-related types. although I dont watch Amazing Race and Survivor, they're just fine with me.
Yeah I heard that 'Joe Millionaire' is not really a millionaire.

Thuringwethil - May 29, 2003 04:39 PM (GMT)
Yep, he's not a millionaire and that is in fact the irony of the dating game which thrills me and delights my viewing pleasure. :)
minamic - May 29, 2003 05:00 PM (GMT)
I'd like to beg to differ!
Without Reality TV, we wouldn't be aware of all the world's baka no otokos to onnas, don't you agree, Gem-chan? ^.^ Besides, watching people make absolute fools of themselves is fun to watch after a very hard day. It's just like America's Funniest, except I think America's Funniest is more intelligent, if you know what I mean. ;)
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
tokiya: kaachan... kowaii...
Seriously, I used to watch Survivor and the Amazing Race. I don't like watching the dating shows but they make me laugh. They should be placed on COMEDY TV, not REALITY TV. I don't even understand why those women would make fools of themselves over one guy, considering that they don't look so bad naman, that they can probably get any guy they want. Isn't love more important than money? Even if the guy's not rich, if he's willing to work for it, what he has or doesn't have at present doesn't matter. Tamad lang talaga siguro yung mga babaeng yon that they want to have all of those things --- love, wealth, fame --- instantly. Well, life doesn't work that way.
Gomen!!!!!! I'm ranting again. ^^;;; Will stop now.
acewildgal - May 30, 2003 01:41 AM (GMT)
i guess what reality shows would like to prove is how far people would go in order to get big bucks money. same goes with other shows and even quiz shows (like weakest link...rudely voting people out...)
thats what reality is.
on a lighter note...i think the japanese have wierder reality tv shows where they try to break up couples by introducing a 3rd party (girl)...just for laughs to see some guy react in a tight situation..... --;
*passes the mike to shaider about this*
raistlin - May 30, 2003 01:54 AM (GMT)
err nope not really break up japanese couples... but sort of test the guy's (boyfriend) truthfulness with the girl... will post more about it later in japanese culture...
raistlin - May 30, 2003 04:07 AM (GMT)
head is spinning and still a bit sleepy....anyway here's the promised post regarding the japanese show...
The show name is London Boots.... and the Subsection is London Hearts... with 3 kinds of events:
1. Triangle
2. BlackMail
3. forgot the title (Akujo = bad woman)
4. Dousukebe (sort of just an ice breaker portion)
1. Triangle:
They set up a guy by texting or e-mailing the guy in his phone or by accidentally passing a trap girl in his line of site. (Example: trap girl goes... can i borrow ur phone for a second my phone ran out of battery and i need to meet a friend etc... ) After which, since the trap girl already knows the number of the guy the host starts texting the guy about things etc... and eventually they would go out on a date. And then they would set up the guy and his girlfriend (real girlfriend) on a date... with the trap girl arriving in the same place. Anyway during dinner (date) the trap girl arrives and sort of makes some actions so that she would get the attention of the guy....and once the guy learns that the trap girl is there *starts scratching his head* .... the worse part is this ... the girlfriend goes to the CR and upon coming back she recognizes the trap girl (setup) and greets her as if she's a long lost friend.... etc... and asks the trap girl to join her and the guy at the table... okay now the guy is really very uncomfortable and usually asks leave to go to the CR .... in the CR there's a camera which shows what the guy is doing in there (note the camera is aligned in such a way that you don't exactly see what the guy is doing but what he is saying... the guy usually freaks out in the CR... and usually vents his frustration at the paper towels...*talk about deforestation* and usually the guy says "what the ...." or "maji de" etc... okay when he gets back at the table the trap girl and his gf are talking about lovelifes etc ... the trapgirl just says that she has no lovelife yet but has a prospect and usually shows the gifts the guy gave her..(i.e. scarfs, fans etc) ... okay the guy suddenly has some stomach problems and goes back to the CR and vents his frustration at the poor paper towels .... hmmm that's a bad case of diarrhea... upon coming back... his girlfriend asks leave to go to the CR and the trap girl and the guy talks... the guy apologizes for not telling the truth that he has a gf. and that he enjoyed her company too... the trap girl replies that she enjoyed his company too ... and that even though his gf is a goodfriend of hers she wants to have a relationship with him.... okay so now the guy is in a trap.... he doesn't know what to do or what to say....so here are the 2 scenarios... 1) agree to have a relationship with the trap girl 2) don't agree...
scenario 1:
when he agrees to have a relationship with the girl. his gf comesback....and the trap girl starts the conversation with this. You know( talking to the gf) I have someone who I like, but then he already has a girlfriend, and he still wants to have a relationship with me. That person is him (points to the boyfriend then stands up and leaves). The gf and the guy starts talking and the guy is being apologetic... the crew and hosts comes over and tells the guy about it.... and after that leaves, leaving the guy and his gf to talk things over.
scenario 2:
he doesn't agree...his gf comesback....and the trap girl starts the conversation with this. You know( talking to the gf) I have someone who I like, but then he already has a girlfriend as much as i want to have a relationship with him he is too loyal to his girlfriend. That person is him (points to the boyfriend then stands up and leaves). As she leaves she looks at them and shouts "nice couple"... the guy is bewildered and the crew and hosts comes in and talks and then leaves the two of them...
more to come.... my hands are tired and need to finish my program

Its not really my thing to watch those kind of TV shows, although I can honestly say Fear Factor is the closest thing to real "reality".
raistlin - June 3, 2003 12:51 AM (GMT)
2. THE BLACKMAIL
what is the blackmail ? its not like a real blackmail where in u use and information you have gained (usually a secret) and exploit it... it usually goes as a random meeting of a guy to a girl (they victimize anyone with or without a girlfriend, but if the guy is with a girlfriend u'll see how pissed the gf would be if the guy flops up ) the meetings are supposedly random (i.e. random texting etc) but its setup by the crew and either the girlfriend of the guy or a close friend. if the guy replies to the message then the fun begins ... the exchanged messages are usually sweet and mushy ... and late the girl asks the guy if they could meet and go out on a date.... and usually during the date they sort of hold hands with each other etc... and sometime when they get a lot closer to each other the guy usually hints to go back to the girl's place and (you know) .... during this time the close friend or gf of the guy calls the guys phone and asks to meet with the guy.... if the guy answers and meets with the friend/gf then everything is fine...but if not its gameover... the trap girl then ask leave to go to the CR and there she exchanges with the gf / close friend... usually the gf is wearing a same set of clothes like the trap girl and the guy is usually shocked upon seeing his gf wearing that same dress.... and his gf is very angry at him...

worms, slugs, cockroaches, bettles and the like... tottally gross almost all the time. Almost lang since they had some groups eat century eggs, balot, and strawberries.
Kung pag-uusapan Reality TV, Fear Factor at Amazing Race lang pinanonood ko. I like the two shows' hosts kasi mweheheh :P

Ako din, I like the Amazing Race... kaya lang minsan lang me nakakapanood.
I was able to watch the last 2 shows though. Way cool.
Kainis si Kelly tho. So whiny. Parang yung isang girl dati, yung pinakasalan ng isang twin
Sobrang arte, grr.
