Bruce Almighty...
"I'VE GOT THE POWER!!!"
XD
When's it showing????
I've always liked movies I can quote from. ;)
And Ace Ventura wasn't so bad... the first movie anyway. (I used to erupt in giggles even just thinking about the scenes.) ^^;; The second installment was pure green jokes and toilet humor... not very funny at all.
I sure hope Jim Carrey's new movie will be a good one. He needs the comeback. :)

My sister saw Bruce Almighty today ... SOBRANG funny daw.
I can hardly wait.
I loved Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo heaps. XD It was so strange and funny at the same time ... and it had a lot of warmth to it in spite of all the toilet humor.
I didn't think Ace Ventura was bad either; for some reason though, I liked the first better than the second, which is my Ate's fave. STRANGE... <_<
I also liked My Best Friend's Wedding... as a romantic comedy it tops my list.
I also like the martial-arts comedies of Jackie Chan, those are REALLY funny... XD
Rogue - May 29, 2003 01:36 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Tarzan's one of my fave movies too. We watched Ice Age on VCD yesterday. Hahaha, it's so funny! I really love the characters there. They all complemented each other..their personalities are all different. And the sloth is just...hilarious!
I also love Jackie Chan films. You should watch Drunken Master 1. It's so funny! Drunken Master 2 is good too! Ah, I watched so many Jackie Chan films since I was a kid. ^^
acewildgal - May 29, 2003 05:37 AM (GMT)

Those are some of the movies I love as well!!!
First Wives' Club has been one of my all-time favorites, just love how Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and Bette Middler interact with each other. :D
l_i_g_a_y_a_h_a_r_u_k_a - May 29, 2003 05:11 PM (GMT)
I wish I got to see Johnny English! ;_; At least I got to see Bringing Down The House though ... it was a good undertaking, to say the least. :D
Robin Hood: Men In Tights, the Drunken Master series of Jackie Chan (especially Drunken Master 2 ... Master indeed!!! <falls on her knees to worship Jackie Chan>), and The First Wives' Club were also wickedly funny ... I still watch them, and they NEVER fail to get me to laugh in stitches... XD
More along the vein of The First Wives' Club, has anyone seen Death Becomes Her? That one's BRILLIANT. XD

Just got to see Bruce Almighty with Joan and Jenny yesterday, and...
don't get your hopes up too high, especially if you're a Jim Carrey fan. The movie is funny, but it's not the same Carrey material that we've (or at least, I) been used to... and for me, the funiest guy in the film isn't Jim Carrey, but the one who portrayed his rival (the Baxter guy. I was almost out of air from laughing while bruce was messing with him).
Overall, it's still a good film though. Morgan Freeman was aight. :)
skyjade - June 2, 2003 08:22 AM (GMT)
There's this movie by John Leguizamo that I really liked, although the type of humor is crude. The title of the movie is "The Pest" and he plays a character named Pestario Vargas, hence, the nickname "The Pest". I've been looking for a copy of this movie but wasn't able to find any, pirated or original :P
Maybe I should just download it off somewhere XD

I watched "Bruce Almighty". It's a serious funny movie. Oh wait, maybe I better write it down like this: It's a serious movie. It's a funny movie. ^^; I CRIED at the end. Funny movie rating definitely goes down if a movie makes me cry. But I give it points for its parable/fable effect: having a moral lesson at the end. I guess you could say the movie tests Jim Carrey's versatility as an actor, since he has both dramatic and comedic scenes. ^_^ That's good. At least he isn't stereotyped too much.
My favorite scene is still the one they show sa trailer... when he walks down the street and the background song goes: "I'VE GOT THE POWER!" XD

In fairness he's quite flexible. Evident in his diplomatic and dramatic role in "The Majestic". B)
Carrey: How many fingers am I holding up right now?
Freeman: 7.
Carrey: AHA! ~ HAH?!

Hehe, i loved Bruce Almighty because of the conflicts of having enormous power, yet have problems getting someone to love you.
Then there are other movies that are not exactly comedy movies but i love those comedic moments.
:::Star Wars Empire Strikes Back:::
Han and Lea were arguing in an access tunnel in Echo Base in Hoth.
Han: Tell me why you dont want me to go?
Lea: Cuz we need you, you're natural born leader!
Han: No, THAT's not it! Its because of the way you feel about me! (Dare's her to kiss him)
Lea: You're delusional! I'd rather kiss a wookie!
Han: You should! You need a good kiss!
:::Con Air:::
Steve Buscemi (Garland "The Ripper" Greene) and Nick Cage are watching the inmates celebrating their escape by singing a familiar song "Sweet Home Alabama".
Steve: (looks at Nick Cage) Define Irony.
Nick: What?
Steve: Irony is a bunch of idiots, who's singing on a plane, of a song of a rock and roll band, who died of a plane crash.
Yowzer.
