Well, since I am still a newbie and only admin can post on the OAV Forums part, I guess I'll just ask my questions here. Hope no one minds. ^_^

Firstly, I've been trying to figure out how people place those member titles beneath the avatars (i.e., JM's Repapips/Meteorite Garden title... mine just says "Member". ;_;) I mean, I've been trying to look for a link or some such thing on the WHOLE SITE and I still don't get it! >< On the cosplay.com, pinoyexchange and the other forums I couldn't find it either! (And since those forums have been here before OAV, you can guess how long my curiosity has gone unappeased.) Clue me in, please???? I beg you!

Secondly, I was wondering if we can have readymade avatars like the other forums? ^_^ So if people who go in here don't have one, they can just choose? I wanna contribute. ^o^

Answer to First Question: I changed the settings of the post count to 25 meaning you need 25 posts to have a member title. Originally it was only 5. Eh madupang ako... XD

I changed the default titles too, n00b Fries (0 post), Regular Burger (15 posts), Super Spaghetti (30 posts) and Ultimate Chicken (45 posts). But since I set the limit of the customized member title to 25, you can change it by the time you reach Super Spaghetti! Oh well, I couldn't think of better default titles anyway... ;_;

For second question: Since this is just a free board, we can customize it only as much. There's no options regarding avatars. Just the emoticons and the skin. Sorry about that.

Lastly, I moved this topic to the Suggestion Box! B)

Maybe battlechaser can fill you in on this since it was him who made the name.

Oh, I just remembered- "Organization of Anime Volunteers". But because of technicalities (since the group isn't really an organization per se), the meaning was dropped and the name was left as is- OAV. ;)

OAV - organization of anime volunteers

The termed OAV and the group OAV was coined from the volunteers of the event Anime Explosion which was held around November 2000. It started out as an "acquaintance e-mail group" to the volunteers of the said event and who are also anime fanatics. The name OAV was created not for politcal reasons but something to associate the volunteers during that time. Thus OAV was created. In time the group grew not just as simple acquaintances but became a group of friends, a barkada. However, those who are not familiar with the group would always have this notion that OAV is something else. Especially, having the misconception of "Paul - El Presidente" as the OAV President etc. There are no politcal hierarchy in the group. OAV is only a group of friends.

On OAV

It used to be something else, so we had a poll of what name to adopt for the egroup ML (it used to egroups then). So it was a choice between OVA or OAV, but I felt that OVA sounded like "ovary" or something relatively anatomical in nature, (methinks ova=egg) so OAV it became.

But really, there's no big mystery to the OAV, just a name for the barkada. :)

hmmm problem with the code from invision then... i can't edit the code nor make changes to the code :( tried looking for the source but won't let me edit it.... sorry for the inconvenience though... hockey_07 doesn't exist too.. its from another database i guess... that's bad data objects mingling with each other

Is OAV a restricted group or is it open to other people? Just curious...

So far, ang kilala ko pa lang personally sa group ninyo e si JM, Paul, Toby and Meiko (that is kung wala akong nakalimutan).
