The Animation Council of the Philippines (ACPI) in coordination with the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), The French Embassy Manila, and the Japan Foundation Manila, is organizing the 1st Philippine International Animation Festival to be held on 06-13 February 2004, with exhibit, creative workshops and business seminars at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, and a week long film screening at SM Megamall featuring original French, Japanese and Filipino animation feature and shorts. The Festival's objective is to showcase the talents of local animators to both local and international markets and provide a venue for possible business ventures and co-production agreements between international studios and local animation houses.

The Festival shall be held concurrently with the country's premiere information technology outsourcing event, e-Services Philippines: 4th IT Outsourcing Conference and Exhibition at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila Hotel on 12-13 February 2003. E-Services Philippines is the country's first and only annual IT outsourcing and subcontracting conference and exhibition. The event promotes to both local and global markets the country's world-class capabilities in IT and IT-enabled services particularly in five priority areas: Animation, Business Process Outsourcing, Contact Centers, Medical Transcription, and Software Development.
