I don't know if anyone has seen this, but I heard that there's a virus that floats just recently. It's the one that shows a pop-up notice that your PC will shutdown in 60 seconds so you've gotta save your work and blah. And it says something about failure of RPS. I have no idea.
A friend gave me a remedy to this and I tried it and so far...nothing bad has happened to my PC which got infected a few days ago.
"think bago lang yun pero kelangan mo idelete sa REGISTRY at end mo ung task na MSBLAST.EXE
u also need to delete dun sa registry at idelete mo dun sa C:/WINDOWS/system32/msblast.exe"
I want to confirm if this is a virus or not, and if the so-called remedy is helpful.
Yung worm virus, forgot the name... Inaattack yung dial-up config ng PC na kapag online ka, it will prompt you to shutdown your PC. I dunno if this is the virus you were talking about... I tried searching my PC for a file named "msblast.exe" but it showed nothing, so there's a 50/50 chance dala ng virus yun - but its not recommendable to delete the file kc minsan pati yung solution na iniispread sa net, false naman.
If your PC is working fine, wala na cguro yung virus. :P
Kung yung problem ay registry, download ka ng RegVac sa
http://download.com.com/3000-2094-10056368.html, ok siya panglinis ng anomalous registries.
ummm i got that sa laptop ng stepbrother ko like 3 weeks ago... and natanggal ko sya kasi binua ko yung ginagamit namin internet (juno saamin, its like AOL) you could check the microsoft site para malinis mo yung comp mo and ma prevent yan worm na yan..
