Title: The Ragnarok Philippine Launch
Description: on sept. 13, 2003

officer_fujita - July 28, 2003 06:30 AM (GMT)
Cosplay Guidelines for September 13.

Since this will be The Philippine Ragnarok Launch, only cosplayers coming
as Ragnarok characters (whether from the online game or the Korean comic book) are eligible to join.

There will be a pre-registration period. This will eliminate the hassle of
going to the venue early with all your stuff just so you can register yourself.
You will have to fill out the form attached and send it along with a pic (.jpg
or .gif format) of your character during the registration period (which will
start on August 16 until August 30) to: ragfest_cosplay@yahoo.com

The number of slots for registered cosplayers is limited to 30, and it will be
on a first-come first-serve basis so you are urged to register as early as
possible during the registration period. Registered cosplayers automatically
get the new Level Up! CDs containing both OZ World and Ragnarok Online.

The next 10 people to register after the first 30 registrants will be put on
the waiting list.

For the registered cosplayers, we will send you an e-mail 3 days after the
registration period to confirm your attendance and participation in the event.
If you won't be able to give your confirmation, we will take someone from the
waiting list to replace you. This will also apply if you won't be able to make
it on time for the catwalk.

You will have to completely fill out your forms, including which character you
will be cosplaying as. Incomplete forms will be rejected and you will have to
be a part of the hall cosplayers. We will not divulge any information in your
forms to anyone- so you don't have to worry about a thing if you want your
costume to be a surprise.

Registered participants will be given a minute, at most, to strut their stuff
on stage. This will include your entrance and exit. If you exceed the time
given to you, you will be given a warning and motioned to exit the stage. If
more than a 30 seconds passes and you're still not heeding the warning, you
will be automatically disqualified.

You will be provided with microphones for your lines (if you have one ^__^),
but you will have to give to us in advance the line that you'll be saying. You
can include this in your form.

If you weren't able to register and you still want to come in costume on the
day of the event, you are still welcome to do so and be a hall cosplayer- but
you won't be able to join the catwalk.

You cannot carry working weapons with you. Nothing that could cause serious
harm or injury to any person will be allowed.

What goes on stage goes off with you. If you make a mess, you will have to
clean it up while the audience waits for you to do so.

Level Up! Inc. and its judges have full authority to disqualify and/or eject
any participant for any reason without appeal.

The awards to be given will be:

Best Male Cosplayer award

Best Female Cosplayer award

Best Monster award

Best Craftsmanship award

Game Boss' pick (Best Hall Cosplayer) award

For the best male and female cosplayer award, any character belonging to the
major job classes in Ragnarok Online can be cosplayed:

Novice
Swordsman
Knight
Crusader
Mage

Wizard
Sage
Archer
Hunter
Bard/Dancer

Merchant
Blacksmith
Alchemist
Acolyte
Priest

Monk
Thief
Assassin
Rogue

NPC characters like the kafras and helpers along with the human characters in
the Ragnarok comic book (Chaos, Loki, Fenris, Iris, Sakray, Valkyries, etc.)
also belong in this category. Any cosplayed character that doesn't fit this
category (Porings, Munaks, Abysmal Knights, etc.) will belong to the best
monster category.

For the Best Craftsmanship award, cosplayers who show exceptional technical
skill in constructing props for their costume are qualified to vie for the
award. Props include weapons (swords, lances, staffs, etc.), armor (helmets,
plates, etc.,), and any other additional accessories (wheelbarrows or
peco-pecos). Anyone from the registered cosplayers can win this award, so a
registered cosplayer who win an award for the Best Male/Female/Monster category
can still win the Best Craftsmanship award.

For the Game Boss' Pick (Best Hall cosplayer) award, cosplayers (regardless of
their character) who were taken off the registered list or were not able to
register on time automatically qualify to vie for the award. You won't be able
to join the registered cosplayers on stage, but you will be judged while you're
roaming around the event- so it would be a good idea to hang around the event
in costume and be highly visible even if you were not able to register.

The winners will receive a plaque in recognition of their talent, a blue box
(which will generate a random item, so you can get anything from a jelopy to a
clip ^^) for their Ragnarok Online character, and a Ragnarok Online goodie bag
from Level Up! Games (there's tons of really cool RO collectibles in the goodie
bag!!! ^o^!!!).

Be sure to pass this around!!! We'll keep you posted with future updates ^___^

*for the cosplay reg form, you can just send me a private e-mail and I'll give you the format ^___^
