Title: Conflict Disclosure

bweezy - April 29, 2004 12:41 PM (GMT)
In accorance with the Conflict Disclosure Guidelines Law, this is where candidates, government ministers, deputy ministers, CIA Intelligence Agents and ambassadors must disclose if they hold any position of influence within a governing structure of a region outside the Region of Canada, including those that are equivalent to the Canadian positions of “Minister“ “Deputy Minister“ “Ambassador” and “Soldier“.

Simply disclose your conflict by replying to this thread.

Please be advised that a failure to disclose any positions you hold in other governments will result in a suspension of government privileges in Canada for 60 days from the date your breach was discovered.

Carbanousa - April 29, 2004 01:32 PM (GMT)
Other than my current position within the Canadian Government I have no other positions to disclose. I am, however, currently working on gaining access to a number of Regional Intelligence networks to further the efficiency and adaptability of the Canadian Intelligence Agency. Details of these will be released as they become available to myself.

Boreal Tundra - May 2, 2004 05:02 AM (GMT)
I will note my other positions in the CIA forum, the appropriate officials can deermine when and what should be disclosed here.

Ess - May 2, 2004 12:31 PM (GMT)
No positions to disclose.

bweezy - May 2, 2004 03:54 PM (GMT)
Just so we're clear, if you have nothing to disclose at that time, you needn't bother posting it here (or else this thread will be a mile long :)

However, if you are unsure about whether you have a position elsewhere that required diclosure, you can send a description of your non-Canadian duties to a member of Cabinet for a preliminary interpretation.

bweezy - May 10, 2004 03:14 AM (GMT)
As a result of the freezing in relations with Alberta, and their threats to the security of our region, the Government of Canada asks that any nations that are "dual resident" in both Canada and Alberta (i.e., have a nation resident in both regions) are asked in good faith to disclose the conflict of interest.

Oilers Fans - June 9, 2004 09:52 PM (GMT)
Well, it is already known by almost everyone, but I guess I have to do this anyways...

I have been elected (before I came to Canada) as the Minister of Defence in Alberta, under the name of Stalins Soviet Russia. I plan to hang on to this position, but would still like to run as a Canadian. I have done so before, and just noticed this thread now. So, here I am, disclosing my other position.

MrPopo - July 22, 2004 06:45 AM (GMT)
Alright I've been looking for this thread forever!

here goes:

1. Deputy Prime Minister of Canada
2. Vice President Of Canada's Sporting Association (currently defunct)
3. Ambassador to Western Europe
4. Official Canadian Cartographer

kana da - October 18, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
I just found out that I've become the UN delegate of the North Polar Region.

Carbanousa - October 18, 2004 08:54 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the heads up kana da.

bweezy - November 3, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
Just a heads up - less thant 24 hours ago, a member of Cabinet was put in a position that Might trigger the conflict of interest law. It may be a grey area (it is a position that doesn't exist in Canada, nor is there an equivalent position here).

The possible conflict has been revealed in Cabinet - a discussion will take place to determine if this is a conflict or not.

However, I'm alerting the public that we are aware of a possible conflict involving a Minister (not me, btw), the details have been revealed in Cabinet, and will be disclosed publicly should it be determined that in fact that extra-territorial position triggers the conflict provisions - this mechanism will therefore act as technical compliance with the 24 hour disclosure window, but allow the minister's privacy to be respected should it be determined that the position does not trigger this law.

Carbanousa - November 4, 2004 02:37 PM (GMT)
Thanks Bweezy. The title of the postition is Electoral Minister for the Australian Cabinet. It is a short-term appointment to oversee the election of a new Australian cabinet and potential re-founding. As stated in a Cabinet release, the position is observatory in nature and, to my knowledge, will not be invovled with internal politics.

This is not an attempt to mitigate the non-satisfaction of the Conflict Resolution Law, although is the honest truth. I have been busy in real life over the past week and a half and have not been able to log on as frequently. As a result, I have been mainly checking the Canada board as this is where my main priorities lie. I found out about the formal appointment as a temporary member of Australia's Cabinet upon reading a Cabinet thread.

I appreciate that this may not satisfy some members of Canada, but is the only justification that I have. The resident Nations of Canada have my word that my involvement shall be impartial, and not in any way affect my duties to the Region of Candada. I will also be relinquishing my position within Australia as soon as the new Cabinet is in place.

Once again, my sincerest apologies for the delay.

bweezy - November 16, 2004 03:07 PM (GMT)
I'm doing a pre-emptive disclosure - I'm currently assisting the region of "Congress of Strasbourg". I don't have any official title, and may never actually have one. However, I'm disclosing this so that everyone knows my involvement. I'll update this should my status in the region change.

Almonaster - January 10, 2005 05:11 AM (GMT)
Since I've applied for the deputy PM position, I probably should do a pre-emptive post here.

I am heavily involved with TPC, although the only formal position I hold at present is ambassador to Canada. I have previouly been a Judge, and hope to be again soon.

I also spend some time over at Free States of Gaia. It doesn't have a formal government so there are no offical positions, but I'm one of the people that occasionally gets listened to.

I am founder of my own compact and bijou region NoUN which has no-one but me in it.

I am also about half of the "active" posters at The Culture, and have a nearly dead nation in 10000 islands. That's it, I think.

Baribeau - January 11, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
Okay, here it goes (do I have to post former postions that are now irrelevant [ie. regions are dead?]... I'm not going to now, but if you want I will later)

1. Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs' -- Canada
2. UN Delegate -- Lazarus
3. Deputy Minister of Culture and Education -- The North Pacific
4. Minister of Law (nominee) - The Swamp
5. Ambassador to The West Pacific -- The North Pacific

On behalf of (well, myself), I would like to thank Saskatoon Saskatchewan for giving me this position. I won't let him down. (I'm told i get to do mass TMs. Hooray!)

Since I've become a candidate for the Minister of Justice I would like to disclose that:

One of my nations is the founder of a region called "A Nice Warm Cave".

I'm also involved in setting up a government in the region of "Congress of Strasbourg". However, that region is currently not very active and I have not been putting much energy into it of late.

Christopholous - February 15, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
I hold a region called The Commonwealth, but Im the only one there.

A Lee Project - February 17, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)
Currently I have three official nations:
The Democratic Republic of A Lee Project
The Federation of M A C O
The Protectorate of Remo Star

A Lee Project is the primary active nation, which is a Senator in the region of Greece.
Member of the region are not aware considering that Remo Star is a seperate nation now under its own interests. ALP / M A C O are under the Hellenic Army (regional army) however if REMO wins election or gains more interest in Canada, M A C O may revert to Canada and possibly even A Lee Project.

kana da - February 20, 2005 11:09 PM (GMT)
Founder of the North Polar Region

Redundancies - July 7, 2005 12:21 PM (GMT)
My puppet "Miracle on Ice" has just applied for Regional Council in the Ohio region.

Liarg - December 19, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
I do not hold any government positions in any other regions.

I am founder of the region Bolivian, a largely inactive repository for a few of my puppets in the past.

I am a former soldier in the Rejected Realms Army, and still maintain contact with that organization on a limited basis, but not as an active participant.

Being a regular member and not one of influence, you didn't really need to post here. But then again, I guess I really didn't have to post this either.
