Greetings and Salutations.

The municipalities of the South-Central corridor and Golden Horeshoe region have created the Commonwealth of the Niagara Escarpment for mutual political and economic gain. Concentrating on being self-sufficient from a well-cultivated agriculture industry, promoting the highest standards in Education, Mental & Physical Heath, and finally liberal civil rights as long as they do not offend the mainly secular populace. Maintaining a strong, progressive economy through a large pharmaceutical industry being granted large tax breaks and Heavy Industry controlled with strong 'green' standards.

Citizens enjoy a high standard of living and are content, which usually leads to a unforunate low turnout for elections and the like. Fairly high participation in recreational sports promotes citizen health but has been suffering in recent years as urban sprawl has outgrown the growth & maintenance of sporting facilities. The regions population also enjoys many hi-tech gadgetry available for purchase, entertainment facilties of just about every variation abound, a excellent wine growing region, fine art & performing arts ... and several levels of professional sports.

Whilst the elections and decisions on policy were being determined, especially the debate on a currency. Tim Hortons (which is on every streetcorner in this area) ran it's annual 'roll up the rim to win' contest. This extremely popular contest had locals treating 'free coffee' rims with more reverance than the dollar of the day. One very creative politician and one corporate sponsorship deal later, the currency was later revealed to be "The Timmie."
