| George Prescott Bush, the oldest son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, said the death of Pat Tillman, the NFL player and Army Ranger who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004 in what was later determined to be a friendly-fire incident, "was a wake-up call for me." He said he even "looked into active duty" and had somber conversations with his wife about the possibility. |
"wake up call"? Took long enough for him to "wake up".
"even looked into active duty"??? That's priceless!
Naval Reserves? Probably gonna be all safe and sound a la his uncle.

I usually agree with you on most things Ess, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea to have the relatives of high ranking officials going to war. It chills me to imagine what Bush would be capable of if a blood relative was sacrificed or captured over there.
On one hand, what an interesting choice for the guy. At least he joined the military... someone's gotta be Sec of Defense when another relative gets elected in 2012.
OTOH... ditto the fear ^
Pat Tillman - U.S. Army RangerGPB had a wake up call and even thought of active duty - but he's only going to go so far with that - joining the Naval Reserves...
