Ambassadorial Update – February 26, 2007

Much work has been undertaken in The South Pacific over the past months to rectify and rebuild following the great Invision snafu of November 2006...The opportunity for a forum wide review was grasped with both hands and has proved a worthwhile task on all accounts...But probably of most import to all members was the restoration of the large selection of smilies… ;)

Legal Changes
A bill is currently being voted upon to amend the Law of Succession...The amendments are to tighten current legislation which will enable Cabinet to act more clearly, within a defined legal framework, in protecting the region from ‘endo-tarts’...It is looking likely that the amendment will pass through the Assembly, achieving the required 60% in favour, when voting closes...

Global Warming Discussion
Does it exist?..How much are we contributing to it?..If we are can we do anything to control it?..

Just some of the points being debated: Global Warming

Elections
The South Pacific Cabinet elections are scheduled soon...Full election coverage can be found both on the forum...And distilled on South Pacific Offsite Times (SPOT)

Member Survey
As part of the forum review the Cabinet have commissioned a survey to solicit the views of residents of The South Pacific...The short survey takes just a few minutes to complete and asks for comments on areas such as forum design, current frustrations and views on what direction the region should take in the future...

Member Ejected
Shamrock Shenanigins was ejected from The South Pacific for their failure to adhere to the Law of Succession...In amassing over 230 endorsements in a week and handing out over 3 times as many, they did not issue a statement of intent within the required time frame...They woke up in the Rejected Realms on Wednesday morning...

Delegate Challenge Shortlived
Read the full news story at SPOT...Along with other regular news updates as they happen...

(thank you, kloister for putting this together)
