Title: "View New Posts" doesn't work

Radiohead Fans - January 25, 2007 06:17 AM (GMT)
Every time I come here and click new posts, it always returns an error saying my search returned no results, even though there are new posts I haven't read. I can't find any settings in my CP like vbulletin has to make it work. Do you have it set as database read/mark based or cookie based? Try another setting because it's not working as it is now. New Posts is by far the most used button on most forums I visit so it would be nice if it worked here too. Thanks :)

For some reason it doesn't show new posts only new topics created.

Server crash issue. It used to work.

Nothing we can do about it. I'm awaiting word back from InvisionFree managers ... although I've been waiting for six days now ..... so I'm losing faith that I'll hear anything back.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

What ... why am I apologizing? It's not my fault.

I've always used Show New Topics.

I've never used either.

I've never understood the point of it ... the forums with new posts have a different icon than those without ... and the threads with new posts are bold and colourful as compared to the others.

I guess there *are* levels of laziness that even *I* don't descend to.

It's so you can see every thread which has been replied to. Allows you to address important issues first and makes posting quickly easier :P

I usually start at the top of the forum and work my way down, except for certain exceptions.

Yay, someone else recognizes the importance of it. :)

Sorry to hear it probably won't be fixed. You can only do so much with free software/hosting, so no worries. :)

Personally I'm a big fan of using "Today's active topics".

I'm not sure if View New Posts has ever worked very well.

That's always been been my favoured method of forum perusal. If you're on everyday, you're not going to miss anything new going on around here.
