Title: Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs
420_Celebrants - January 3, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
I figured it was widely known, but just in case ... Hamsters is my Deputy again this term.
Please handle the Hamsters nicely and remember ... Hamsters loves chocolate covered carrots ... and men named Warren who really like pink.
Carbanousa - January 3, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
You scare me 420 :hide:.
I have an RL friend call that name who really likes pink (but he's quite quite mad).
Omnivorous - January 3, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
I just get labelled pink because I'm perfect in every way and people can't find fault with me.
I don't like being mentally subjected to colourism :(
:P
Yay Hammy!
Old Ogastein - January 3, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
:congratz: on another term Hammy!
Parrrrtay - January 3, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
Congrats Hammy! :cananim:

What a nice 'welcome home!' :D
I am refreshed and invigorated from my RL holiday and raring to go. Thanks everyone!

Raring to go?
LIST OF DUTIES
- Meet with Minister of RA for first Term meeting.
- Plan date and time for second Term meeting.
- Cover the DoI and make sure the server crash didn't affect anything.
- Liase with other Deputies and get cool gossip for me.
- Make pavlova, deliver to me personally.
- Take 15 minute break. (Suggested break activities: sleep, eat, groom, run in wheel, claw at office door.)
- Assist in creation of Cabinet Report for Tier 1 dates Jan 1st - present.
- Refill pavlova tray.
- Speak as much as possible. (Australian accents are just ... )
Please feel free to start on these duties anytime Hamsters. It is great to have a Deputy willing to announce to the forum just how ready for action you are.
Lesson of the Day
- Kiddies, when at work, unless you want a lot of responsibility and duties piled on to you, don't tell your boss how enthusiastic you are to get down to working. Pull the moderate effort and you'll be left alone and keep things at a decent pace to work at. The overachievers will get the most work and the underachievers will be yelled at. You'll just sit there in anonymity (and probably be like me and unable to spell certain words) and sail along.
Sub-Lesson of the Day
- I am a very sarcastic person and only meant 10% of the above. 0% of that included the Lesson of the Day.

Of course I will be needing to appoint a Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs, so I urge members to volunteer by posting here, or by sending me a PM.
My goal is that we can work together to set up the DoI and get it running as soon as possible.

Still no takers.
Come on now. Your region needs you! :cananim:

I'd very happy to announce that Hamsters has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs and Director of the DoI!!!

Congratz Hammy!! :cananim: :yay: :congratz:
Hamsters - February 19, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
I feel honoured, humbled and deeply moved that you should give this important prize to a simple monk from Tibet a simple hamster from Australia. I am no one special. I'm just Hammy, and I'm reporting for duty.
We love Canada. We're proud of what Canada is and what it can become.
A great American Canadian novelist wrote that you can't go home again. He could not have imagined this evening. Tonight, I am home...home where my public life began and those who made it possible live; home where our nation's history was written in blood, idealism and hope; home where my parents showed me the values of family, faith and country.
Thank you, all of you, for a welcome home I will never forget.
With apologies to the Dalai Lama and John Kerry.
Seriously, I'm extremely happy to have this opportunity to serve Canada once again and in particular to embrace the challenges in running a successful DoI. Thank you everyone!

Almonaster - April 2, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Well, first of all thanks to all who voted me in as MoRA.
 Bwa ha ha ha ha! (Did I get that right, Ess?)
Secondly, I will need someone to act as deputy. The main responsibility of the DMoRA is to run the department of Immigration. Anyone who is interested, please post here - or if you're shy, PM me.

I'll throw my hamster wheel in. :D
Almonaster - April 4, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Thank you both for applying.
With two superbly qualified candidates, it's difficult to have to reject either. Since I'm new, I think I could benefit from a bit of continuity in the office, so I'll re-select Hamsters for deputy MoRA.

Wow, thank you everyone. I'm thrilled to have been given this opportunity and to be working alongside Big Al, and look forward to serving the people of Canada for a new term that will hopefully be fun, fruitful, formative and lacking in any computer woes! (mine or anybody elses :P )
While immigration remains top priority, I would also like to resurrect the idea for the Forum Awards. Please watch this space.
