Elections Upcoming
- As noted by 420_Celebrants in the MoRA forum, Elections are almost upon us to elect the new Cabinet for the Winter term. The term will commence during the first week of January, so along with a new year, we’ll have a new Cabinet here in Canada. One should suspect that the new cabinet will have a lot of fun bringing the forum back up to its previous level of glory, which was disrupted by Invision’s server glitch.
Endorsement Cap Proposal
- Semantics are being discussed on this highly controversial proposal. This will definitely be an item passed on to the new as-to-be-elected cabinet to deal with. Cabinet wants to ensure that a band-aid solution isn’t used and that a full solution can be found and agreed upon that makes Canada strong and keeps it democratic.
Fixing Things Up
- Cabinet has been busy finding and fixing items of use/need that were lost in the server crash. Canada is rebuilding, slowly, but surely. A lot of valuable information was lost and a lot of hard work is seemingly down the tubes – only for more hard work to be done to replace it. Please remember to kindly thank your Cabinet for the hard work they do, quite voluntarily I might add. Also, please remember that it is polite to signal before changing lanes.
Illegal Recruiting
- 420_Celebrants noted one day that a member nation of Canada had left. As per his usual curiosity, 420 traced the nation to their new Region and discovered that the nation had been recruited!! Considering this is a verboten thing to do in the NationStates world, 420_Celebrants notified the moderators and sent a note to the recruiting nation telling them about his personal displeasure for such actions taking place. Sadly, no word ever came back from the moderators and the recruiting nation from afar is still in business.
One Almost Resignation and One Official Resignation
- Due to some issues that 420_Celebrants was having with the lack of activity in Cabinet regarding certain issues, 420 notified cabinet that he would be resigning if things didn’t start changing. After being told that his issues were moot, due to miscommunication from MANY terms ago taken to be fact, 420 tucked his tail between his legs and apologized for being silly.
Collections are still being accepted to surgically remove 420’s tail. It embarrasses him greatly. Please send any monetary donations to; Mr. Celebrants – 420 Behind Closed Doors Rd. Forumville, Canada. No need for a postal code – it’ll find its way with nooooo problem.
Back to the serious side of things, Cabinet was semi-shocked when Canada6 announced his resignation, due to real life time constraints. Omnivorous, who served as Canada6’s Deputy, will be elevated to Cabinet and Administrator duties ASAP. Omnivorous will be in need of a Deputy for a grand total of something like 8 days. If you’re interested in this job, let Omnivorous know yesterday.
Other Items
- It started snowing on the forums. Cabinet picked straws as to who would be stuck with the awful neverending respectable job of shovelling it all away. Somehow, JackTarr “won". Everyone please congratulate JT on his expertise of straw pulling, which must be Guiness Record worthy, as he isn't even on Cabinet and he won!
- TV offered up the idea of archiving some of the games in the arcade. The idea was expanded to include the archiving of the official records list and a total fresh start, tied in with forum-related “prizes”, be undertaken.
- Carbanousa was sent a request from a Nation to have another Nation ejected for their questionable name. Cabinet discussed the item and found that the naming issue doesn’t fall under any laws of Canada, nor the Ejection and Suspension guidelines. Cabinet informed the complaining Nation of their rights to launch a complaint on the NS site and will be looking into updating the Ejection and Suspension guidelines to cover this occurance.
- Emoticons were briefly taking over the message posting screen. 420_Celebrants went smilie hunting and the herd was drastically thinned out. To 420’s discredit, with the click of a button, the whole herd re-appeared. 420 is now in therapy for many reasons weeks.
*Tosses a snowball at 420 hitting his tail and forcing it even further between his legs.*
:congratz:

Illegal recruiters really
get my goat. And I love reporting
recruiters spammers to the mods too.
Oh and great report and a terrific read. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that things are nearly back to normal again, at least on the surface. :D

Looks like I have someone to fight against then
The DoI puts lots of effort into recruiting nations legally, those who disobey the rules and flaunt their regions over regions of no interest of them get my goats and my goat cheese as well.
Also, to highlight an issue that I want to be solved soon:
