*shrugs* I'll take the blame for this not being up on time I guess.

Ministry of Regional Affairs
Canadian Cabinet Report

Canada continues to wait

- We’re still waiting for a lot of the posts to be restored. Much information was lost and the most recent items we were talking about before the server crash are effectively put on hold until said information returns to us.

Defense Alert Status

- Carbanousa and Canada6, along with random tidbits from other Ministers, debated the set up of the current Defense Alert Status guide and have come up with some recommendations to change it to reflect up-to-date information and different ideas. A regional vote would be needed to approve this, I believe, so you’ll all know more about this soon.

Embassy Requests

- Canada was asked by: Crimea, Australia, and The United Kingdom for official diplomatic ties to be exchanged. Cabinet talked over all requests separately and decided that it would not be in our best interest to exchange diplomatic ties with Australia due to their lack of a proper government structure, nor with Crimea or The United Kingdom, due to their low nation rates. All three Regions are more than welcome to re-apply when proper conditions are met.

Other Items

- It was noted that the Thread Museum has had a bumpy ride, being unveiled, then sent back to the drawing board, then unveiled again, only to be a giant ball of AWOL now that the forum is wonky due to Invision’s server crash. We miss the museum already.

 Whose job is it to do this report?

Hmmm... for some reason I have the urge to write poetry. :P

Thanks for the report - late or not, 420.

Mine, of course.

However, up until the other day, I had always been under the assumption that cabinet had to sign off and agree on the report, as a check of accuracy and to make sure that the MoRA doesn't screw anything up in the Report.

I've always held back until I got a consensus. Sometimes it doesn't happen all that quickly ... this was one of those weeks.

However, now that I know I've been wrong this whole time, I guess any future issues really can be blamed on me.

QUOTE (Cabinet Disclosure Legisation: Version 1.1)
1(2) A draft of the Cabinet Report shall be posted in the Cabinet Forum 48 hours before it is to be made public.

3(1). Where a Cabinet Minister feels that his or her position on a matter has been misrepresented in the Cabinet Report, the aggrieved Cabinet Minister shall note his or her objection in the Cabinet Forum, and provide alternative wording. Where the Minister of Regional Affairs does not consent to the alternative wording proposed by the aggrieved Cabinet Minister, the Prime Minister shall choose the precise wording that he or she finds acceptable, and shall direct the Minister of Regional Affairs to post that version in the publicly disclosed Cabinet Report.

I don't know if this helps, hinders or does other but my interpration would be that silience indicates no issue or feeling of misrepresentation.
Perhaps (and I think this may have been dicussed during the development of the Cabinet Disclosure Legisation), that further clarification can be given in the Cabinet Report thread should a Minister feel that it is required, but notwithstanding (horrible word):
QUOTE (Cabinet Disclosure Legisation: Version 1.1)
4(1). Nothing in this law shall limit the right of any sitting Cabinet Minister to reveal his or her own personal position on any issue in a public forum. However, all Cabinet Ministers shall be prohibited from disclosing the positions of any other Cabinet Minister on an exempted issue, as revealed in exempted Cabinet discussions.

Silence is golden. :hail:
I think the report being posted in cabinet first for 48 hours gives all the cabinet members time to voice their opinion if they don't agree with something that is written. If they miss the 48 hour period and didn't agree with something that ended up posted then it's on them, they should of been paying better attention.
