Title: How was your day?
Description: Part 2

If people can refrain from posting in threads that were started before March 2006 that would be great. I know that some popular threads such as those in Standing Around The Water Cooler are going to be difficult, but it makes both InvisionFree and the onsite Admin teams work easier to ensure and to merge the threads and topics.
In short, if you can remember the last post in a thread such as "Word association", it is best to create a nerw thread with a similar name (Word association 2, for example) so when the lost posts are restored, the two threads can be merged easier |
So I will start with a 'How was your day? Part 2' So we can still post how our days are going...
So far my 'do nothing day' consisted of shopping (which I hate) and putting plastic on the windows. (hoping to save some on the heating bills) Of course I bought the kind you blow dry so they are clear and it doesn't even look like there is plastic on them. While my son and I was doing the window in my bedroom a black squirrel jumped right up on the window ledge and was looking in at us. Next he was following the blow dryer back and forth trying to catch it with his little hands. It was hilarious!

Copy to Prime Minsiters Forum, Forum Problems thread.
Cool. When the restoration is complete (however it may turn out) we can merge the two threads.

I was going to say that I should really eat something and get my butt out the door, but I still have half an hour! Woohoo!
I actually got up at 6:02 when my alarm went off today. How wonderful. Time to go to work soon though, and that's exciting :)
I love this smilie!

My weekend was pretty good--Saturday morning I went down to Ohio Stadium to be "part of the crowd" at ESPN's airing of College GameDay (I was on TV! Sort of!). It was great, it was like half the city was around the stadium.
Then Ohio State wins the big game against Michigan and the Bengals finally pull out of their doldrums with a win. Woohoo!
Parrrrtay - November 20, 2006 11:22 PM (GMT)
Talk about a maniac Monday :wall:
Rock-Onia - November 20, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
Or a Molotov Monday!!!!! ^_^
Hamsters - November 21, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
Today was hot, blistering hot. I hate Sydney in hot weather. The humidity is unbelievable and just being outside is painful. Every Monday and Tuesday afternoon after work I have to walk about 8 miles to pick my son up from daycare (8 miles altogether there and back) and today it was 40 degrees with about 99% humidity and by the time we got home my head felt and looked about ready to explode, it took me about 5 minutes to get out of my work clothes because they were stuck to my skin with sweat and my feet looked like balloons. I think I need to live in a cool climate. At least when it's cold you can get warm but here there's no escape from the heat. Now it's 1.15am and cooled down to 27 degrees. We can look forward to the same conditions tmrw. Except it's going to be windy as well! :wall:
Parrrrtay - November 21, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
I feel for you Hammy, the heat I can deal with, the humidity is what kills me too. Try 8 hours in a warehouse at them temps. I spend all 8 hours craving a cool shower. By the end of the day everyone is snapping everyone else's head off for no reason other than we are all fed up with being miserable.
Redundancies - November 21, 2006 02:38 PM (GMT)
What's really fun is living in a climate where you can get all the way into the high 30's (100 F) in the summertime, and then turn around four months later and be in the negative 20's (below 0 F).
Jack_Tarr - November 21, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
Well, its sunny and a balmy 38F here today. Hammy, grab the little one and hop on a plane you can both have your own rooms.

Try wearing only a short sleeve shirt at 6 in the morning in the rain probably below freezing on the top of a hill inundated with strong winds.
It'll make you feel better most definitely.
The day after the day before, I don't feel too bad. I woke up on time and I haven't felt at all nauseated.

That would be my idea of heaven at the moment!
And Shay I know I am blessed that I work in a nice cushy air-conditioned office. Hubby works in a warehouse with a nice hot tin roof and yesterday he said 2 ladies fainted.
Today got off to a good start. Halfway up the hill to the railway station to go to work at 6.20am & my sandal strap snapped. Actually it probably melted. ;)
Now I am not posting anything more in this thread unless it's positive.

Nay bad though. Better than yesterday when we accidentally fractured our local pubs assistant managers finger (which required a stitch). Yup - drummers really are thjat clumsy. Besdies, I've never ran so fast for a "sorry" box of chocolates...
But today was nowhere near as good as Saturday.
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 02:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah. Drummers really aren't that coordinated. But there's that squirrel again...
I KEEL THAT SQUIRREL!!!
kana da - November 22, 2006 02:44 AM (GMT)
Well, there is always something wrong with the drummer. That's what happens when you make a career out of hitting things for a living.
Gooo bass players!
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 02:58 AM (GMT)
Much as I hate to admit it, you're right. Because, as a friend of mine once said:
"Bass is like... a bathroom wall.
When it's there, you take it for granted,
But when it's not, you feel really awkward!!"-MR
kana da - November 22, 2006 03:00 AM (GMT)
*thumbs up*
I really want to get this bass guitar I saw at Wal-Mart, but I need to save my money. :(
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 03:03 AM (GMT)
Whoa. Hold up. YOU PLAY BASS?!!
kana da - November 22, 2006 03:04 AM (GMT)
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
Oh. That's cool, too. Bass players are hard to find. they're always hidin' under rocks or sumthin'. You won't be out of work very long if you do learn. Bands just snag bass players up all the time. :)
kana da - November 22, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
Sweet! Maybe after university I might be able to afford it. :P
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
kana da - November 22, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but maybe if I don't eat for a month, I can get it. :P
Rock-Onia - November 22, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
Ah, that's always an option. :D

More deja-vu for Omni.
I would love to be able to shred like Dave Murray, but unfortunately I have the coordination like a dancer without a partner.
(Some grannies are singing Should I Stay or Should I Go Now on TV :D)

They obviously stole the rock from the drummer eh?
Rock-Onia - November 23, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)

That's good. But yeah, them drummers would prob'ly eat the rocks.

Sure man! Just make sure that you return it with a full battery.
