Description: What game do you think it is?

Hm, I had a really great debate with some friends yesterday on what the best videogame ever was...and well...we never did quite come up with a choice. Sooo, I'm wondering, what do you guys here in Canada think the best videogame ever made was?
(I think it's GTA: Vice City, the soundtrack was bouncy and Ihaveathingforlikeviolentgames*coughwheeze* *nods*)

For me the greatest will always be Super Mario World. for SNES. For sentimental reasons.
StarCraft is great. I loved Medal of Honor Allied Assault. Haven't really played anything heavily since those days of yore.

Now, you would think that being a delegate of a region named after a place in the Zelda games, some people would think that my favourite is Zelda... wrong. :P
I would say my favourite is EarthBound - a quirky obscure RPG for the SNES.

Oh my word - what a horrifying question. I can't do this unless it's done per platform and that's at least half a dozen.
Here we go:
FPS: Deus Ex / Ghost Recon;
RPG: Deux Ex / Morrowind / Final Fantasy VIIl
Racer: Wipeout 2097 or Wipeout Fusion / Quantum Redshift;
Stealth: Thief / Splinter Cell.

Super Mario 3. Hands freaking down winner.
Runners up include: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, San Francisco Rush 2049, Basewars, Burnout 3.

It's almost unfair to compare games across generations--I mean, really, with the right graphics, Atari's "SwordQuest" could have been greater then Final Fantasy.
Okay, so maybe not.
That being said, my favorite all-time game is Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

I'd really like to see them remake a lot of the older generation games *nod*

I'd have to say GTA: San andreas because I've got 100% on it twice, and I'm the only person I know to have done so. What a geek I am...
Runner up, I'll say Star Wars Battlefront 2. It's the finest battle game ever in my opinion. It's infintely replayable.
Oh and PC-wise I have to say Age of Empires 2. I played that game to death.
