Title: Interim Deputy Minister of Defence

Liarg - December 21, 2005 02:08 PM (GMT)
Although this interim term will be a short one, I feel that I should post this request for an Interim Deputy Minister of Defence. With the elections coming up next week, this will be a short tour of duty, but I hope someone will be willing to step in, if only for a few days...

Interested parties please respond to me in this thread or by PM. Thanks!

420_Celebrants - December 21, 2005 04:25 PM (GMT)
I personally don't think that is a waste of time at all.

ANYONE who has thought of ANY cabinet position should take a shot at this - it will at least give you some small inkling of what can be expected.

Liarg - December 27, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
I am very pleased to announce that Daemon has agreed to serve as Interim Deputy Minister of Defense pending the outcome of the upcoming election. I am very happy that he has agreed to step into this position, as I feel that it greatly strengthens this department and is a signal of our regional unity.

:clapping: :clapping: Daemon!

Nice choice, Liarg! :D

TinyVillages - December 27, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
I can't imagine a better deputy to entrust Canada to over the next six days. :)

Well, thank you for the kind words and confidence!

By the way, all I need is to become the DMoFA and I will have been every Deputy Minister at least once. I think that I unlock a new trophy at that point.

Maybe then you could be in The Senate Hall of Fame and we could give you a star on the sidewalk! ;)

Beaver-Country-Canada - December 28, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
I'm sure we could doctor a picture of the Hollywood stars in the sidewalk to say 'Daemon' :P

I award you the "I shot the Sheriff" trophy for having been Deputy to each ministry at least once. Remind me to create the trophy when I get back to Indiana.

*runs up to Daemon with a permanent marker in one hand and a T-shirt in the other*

Sign my shirt?

Daemon - December 28, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
*Writes "Daemon P. Smithwick the III, Esq." in large friendly letters.*

kana da - December 28, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
Yay! Thank you!

*brags to everyone how "Daemon signed my shirt!" Wears the shirt to school for a long time. Doesn't let Mom wash it for fear the signature will come off.*

I should not think that a permanent marker would come off in the wash; I have a shirt that hasn't been washed in over 7 years from leaving my primary school that I haven't washed as the markers available were waterbased - it depends on whether they are waterbased or not. (It smells to bits, I sealed it in one of those bags you get from a dry cleaning place)

kana da - December 29, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
I have a sister 2 years younger than myself. To tell our socks apart, Mom uses permanent marker on them. If you wash it enough, they do come off.

I think he was trying to "pick up" your socks.

Or your mom.

Or your sister.

But I'm pretty sure it was the socks.

Jack_Tarr - December 29, 2005 06:03 PM (GMT)
I am never sure what he is trying to do. And I worked for the Brittish for 25 years!

An 1 in 3 chance; £10 to the winner.

Us British (note the correct spelling) are well adversed in living in pouring rain for most of the year even though the climate is sometimes Mediterranean temperature (and raining at the same time) and the gales, the greatest density of tornadoes anywhere in the world and politicians making the country live lives of absolute hell help make us deluded and follish and type stuff that appears slightly wrong. Just ask Carb, he's from a mining town.

Well heck ... the above post clearly states to me that this man is the perfect man for MoDB ... he already seems to be under the influence of beer and he doughnut what he is talking about.

(I do hope that doesn't get misconstrued as any form of campaigning ... if so ... uhh ... Omni is a lush. That's what I meant.)

What that man said.

It was only half eight when I said that; the pub won't allow me in until nine. I'm thinking of growing a beard and seeing if the landlord recognises me. Otheriwse I'll get someone to buy me beer and I'll go and sit outisde even though it is snowing.

420_Celebrants - December 30, 2005 04:58 PM (GMT)
I can vouch. Being tall and having a beard DEFINITELY helps you get into bars when you are underage.

Five years underage in my case. It really does pay to be 6'4 when you're 14.

Bamada - December 30, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
my god! 14?! Wow. I look young so I couldn't get into a bar. *shrugs*

mavenu - December 30, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
or this could happen RL comics

(sorry for the thread-jack)

kana da - December 31, 2005 12:57 AM (GMT)
I could probably get into a bar if I wore my suit. Most people think I'm older in it.

Bamada - December 31, 2005 09:56 AM (GMT)
Well i mean the whole thing doesnt really help much. i mean i've had 4-5 shots of crown royal (cant remember) and 1 of everclear tonight and im what 16, so i mean none of the rules mean anything at all. Like my daddy has absinthe in the fridge outside, which is supposedly illegal. i might try it tomorrow, with it being new years eve and all. ill tell you then. it's supposed to make you hallucinate which is pretty cool but i dont know if it's true or not. ill tell you tomorroe. :)

Omnivorous - December 31, 2005 11:21 AM (GMT)
I thought I was the one who wanted to try out dangerous high percentage alcohols...

Bamada - December 31, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
Oh do I get to do a big paper on it now? lol woo that everclear is a knock out.

Jack_Tarr - December 31, 2005 05:39 PM (GMT)
CROWN ROYAL?????????????????????????????

Woman that's sippin whisky!

Its heresy to do shots of that stuff!!

Defectiveness - January 1, 2006 02:01 AM (GMT)
Sippin' whiskey? I disagree - whiskey is meant to be rotgut, with the sole intention being inebriation. That's why we Irish invented the stuff! We needed a shot of liquid courage before we fought over whatever it was we were fighting over.

Daemon - January 3, 2006 08:13 PM (GMT)
In the light of no serious complaints, many compliments, and my personal judgments, I'd like to say: welcome aboard Defec! You're now the DMoD.

Ess - January 3, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
Congrats, Defec! Another fine team!

Defectiveness - January 3, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
Thank you Daemon, for your confidence, and all who supported me, for, well, your support. I hope this is the beginning of a productive and safe cabinet term. :)

Parrrrtay - January 3, 2006 10:24 PM (GMT)
 GO Defec

Carbanousa - January 8, 2006 04:55 PM (GMT)
