Title: Liarg
Description: Interim MoD

Liarg - December 19, 2005 04:44 PM (GMT)
I just wanted to check in and make a couple announcements. When I accepted the position of Deputy MoD, I never really considered that Carb would ever be vacating his position, or that I would be moving into it. I want you all to know that I take this appointment seriously and will work to the best of my ability to maintain the regional security and stability that Carb and the rest of the cabinet have worked for so long to achieve.

In speaking with Judith Gap earlier, he made a statement that I am quoting here (with his permission):

QUOTE
To clear the air, I should let you know that since I see you in so many regions and since you participate actively (TSP recently) that at times I get concerned about whether you are an intelligence operative for another region. Usually, I believe that you just enjoy the company of so many people, but with my responsbilities, I am always suspicious.

I would like to state, to JG, and to the rest of the region of Canada, that I am not an intelligence operative for any other region. I have been in this game for several years, and have called many regions home at one time or other. However, at this time, Canada is my home and I will fight with everything I can muster to protect her. In reading through some of the past threads, I realize that there has been some concern over my motives in being here, so I am going to tell you a little about myself.

My UN nation is currently in Canada, and is The Ravenous Maneaters of Liarg.

I am the Ambassador to the Allied States of EuroIslanders.

I have no aspirations to be UN Delegate. Ever.

I hold joint citizenship in Nasicournia, and my puppet there is The Reasonable Facsimile of -Liarg-, but I have not been very active there. I am not a member of their military or intel operations.

I founded a region called Bolivian, which has been a repository for some of my puppets, and a few others, but is not an active region and has no forum. Just a few nations in and out now and then.

I have been a member of defender organizations in the past, but never invader organizations.

My first nation was ejected from The East Pacific a week or so after creation for endorsement swapping. (at the time, I did not even know what I was doing, and got knocked for a LOOP, no pun intended  )

My full loyalty is with Canada and I will do anything in my power to fulfill the obligations of this office with honor and integrity. I hope that if there are any questions, that you will feel free to ask.

Meanwhile, I am going to try to learn the ropes, do the very best that I can as Interim MoD, and insure that this transitional period goes smoothly and that our security is not compromised.

Thanks!

Excellent. Thank you for responding so quickly and completely to my concerns.

If it isn't too much to ask, what were the specifics behind that? I didn't know there was certain protocol behind endorsement swapping, other than it being to determine the leader.

I had just started in the game. I got my UN status, and what else would I do? I started endorsing other nations. I did not even know what the UN delegate was or what it did at the time. I just thought it was cool to see how many endos I could get. Then I woke up one morning dead. (Well, not dead, but in the RR) After talking to some other, more experienced nations, I realized that it looked like I was trying to become delegate.

It was just a stupid nOOb mistake....

(It was not with Liarg, BTW...my first nation was Jimsland.)

Ahhhhhhhhhh ... that makes much more sense to me. I can see how things could have been misconstrued.

Oddly, when I first started, I did the same thing. This might finally explain why my first nation disappeared. Thanks :)

disappeared?

What's the name of your first nation, I might be able to figure it out, and maybe even get it back. You do need to remember the password or have filled in an email address though.

LMMFAO ... welllll ... that was a good two years ago now. I believe I have smoked away the part of my brain that held information regarding that nations name or password.

Thanks though :)

Okay ;)

Well, if you lose a nation suddenly, it's possible you just forgot to log in for 28 days and you can get it back by asking the mods through the getting help page (for future reference, maybe if anyone needs it..)

Knowing me ... it is quite possible that in a hazed fugue, I forgot to log in for 280 days, let alone 28.
