Title: Can't post in embassy?
Ness Snorlaxia - December 17, 2005 08:18 PM (GMT)
For some odd reason, I can't post in the Hyrule embassy anymore. Whenever I try to make a post, it says "Sorry, you do not have permission to reply to that topic."
Could someone tell me what's wrong?
Checkers McDog - December 17, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
I'm sure an admin will check out the permission settings once their on.
(Man, it feels weird not ging an admin anymore... ^_^ )
Haken - December 17, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Well I can still post there. This can only mean the Hyrule Invadors group has international support! Coup! Coup!
Just kidding, try again, maybe it works now.

I'll take a look and get back shortly Ness Snorlaxia.

Okee-dokee. All of the Embassy's seem to be set up so that only members can reply to topics. I guess the easist way to get round it is to have (which is the pre-requisite for being a member) a Nation into the Region, but if you already have, let me know and we can sort it out :).
That's odd considering that you posted before-hand . Out of curiosity, did you have a Nation in Canada (even a puppet) that moved to another Region? That would account for why you're a visitor rather than a member.
Ness Snorlaxia - December 18, 2005 02:19 AM (GMT)
I've never had a nation in Canada, but I've moved one (called New Fourside) to Canada. :P

C6 - Need to change the embassies permission mask - it doesn't make sense that they should have to have a nation in the region just to post in their embassy.

I guess she was once a member and someone noticed this mistake.

There was some thought in the past of creating a different membership mask for ambassadors. It could be set up that only an ambassador can start a thread iin an embassy and anyone else can reply. (at least I think so, I'm a little rusty on this)
Bamada - December 18, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
I don't know if that would be good or not. If the ASE did something insane I would expect that if I don't start a thread on it, that someone else would. Does that make sense?
(Plus don't forget the ambassadors/members like me :) )

Actually, I only moved a puppet in just recently, it's the first nation I've had in Canada. :P

Cool. I'm a little unsure as to why the forums are set up this way, but after reviewing the logs, they seem to have been like this from the start.
hudson bay - December 19, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
Doesn't make much sense - maybe Chex knows why...
hudson bay - December 19, 2005 12:07 PM (GMT)
I checked a couple of embassies and found places were recent posts were made by visitors. Might be worth taking a closer look at the permission masks.

I mean they tagged you member. ;)
Ness Snorlaxia - December 23, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
Well, that's something I haven't taken notice of. :P

I agree.
Ness Snorlaxia - January 3, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
I agree, too, since I sort of need to post the update and can't because the forum won't let me. :P
420_Celebrants - January 3, 2006 10:17 PM (GMT)
Ness, I've been playing around in the Admin tab for an hour or so checking some stuff out, totally apart from your issue.
I will check it out and see what I can find. In the mean time, if it is urgent, you can PM the report to me and I will make sure it is posted for you. We'll get this problem fixed.
Ness Snorlaxia - January 4, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
Well, I need to post the update by 8 January, so it's not urgent at the moment.
420_Celebrants - January 4, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
Check your PM's - this should be resolved tonight.
Ness Snorlaxia - January 17, 2006 07:17 AM (GMT)
Hm... I can't post in my embassy again... :(
It brings up the "Sorry, you don't have permission to reply to this topic" message again, when I tried to post the next update.

Okay - the problem should have been sorted.
Judith Gap - January 17, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
It's not. Please change Ness's status from Visitor to Ambassador.
Carbanousa - January 17, 2006 04:46 PM (GMT)
Sorry - it took longer than expected.
Ness Snorlaxia - January 17, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
I can post again! Thanks! ^_^
fenure - January 26, 2006 06:31 AM (GMT)
Huh? What? I seem to be having problems posting in the UFOP embassy.
I'll try again tomorrow.
Daemon - January 26, 2006 06:36 AM (GMT)
Sadly, in your case that is WAD (Working as designed).
From our Jan 16th Cabinet report:
| QUOTE |
| Also due to changes in their constitution, Cabinet unanimously agreed to close our Embassy with the United Federation of Planets. Same as TWP, if changes are made, the decision could be overturned at a later date. |
Though I do encourage you to post in the main diplomacy forum. I hope that you are bearing good news! We would like nothing more than to overturn our decision.
420_Celebrants - January 26, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)
This, of course, leads me to ask one thing - was UFoP informed that their embassy had been closed and why?
If so ... a personal suggestion to Fenure - talk with your leader person and inquire as to why they didn't pass the info on.
