:D Welcome to Canada Moldavistan :D
Looking at your position as Deputy of External Relations, I'd expect you'll probably want to talk to our Minsiter of Foriegn Affairs, Judith Gap. In the meantime, feel free to head on over to Standing Around The Water Cooler or The Village for some light entertainment :).
Moldavistan - December 7, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
Excellent. I thank you for your prompt response Carbanousa!

Hi there, welecome to Canada. What's the buzz in Gatesville?
Moldavistan - December 7, 2005 08:33 PM (GMT)
Hello Hudson Bay,
Internally we have had a recent government restructuring and some nice number gains with regard to the franchises. All told, Gatesville and the Franchises consist of more than 1300 nations and we have surpassed 400 UN endorsements among our delegates. We have some very fine people working very hard to grow our region and our influence, and I applaud what have been astounding achievements, especially given that we are a player created entity.
That being said, my business here relates to our desire to establish official diplomatic relations with this great region. As I understand it, there may be some sticking points with regard to your policies governing such relationships. It is these points that I would like to discuss and address. It is the wish of Gatesville that we can establish these official channels with Canada, and that together we usher in an era of peace and cooperation between our two great regions.
Best Regards,
hudson bay - December 7, 2005 08:47 PM (GMT)
Have you had a chance to read our
guidelines for relations?
Back in the day I had a friend called Rose-Colored Glasses who was involved in the beginning of gatesville. (she has since CTE)
Moldavistan - December 7, 2005 08:58 PM (GMT)
Hello,
Yes Hudson Bay, I have read these guidelines for relations, and realize that there may be a few sticking points with regard to them. It is this I wish to discuss. I also note that, "Exceptions to the above guidelines may be made on a case by case basis by a majority opinion of the cabinet.", so I understand that nothing is written in stone yet, and there is room for discussion on the matter.
Yeah Rose Colored Glasses was the first delegate of Gatesville, and a good friend of our Founder, Gates The God. I never had the opportunity to meet/know her, although I gather she was a fine person.
OT: Are you from Canada IRL? I am from Halifax, NS.
Best Regards,
hudson bay - December 7, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
No I'm from the US. Though I'd like to visit Halifax one day.
Don't want to confuse you - Judith Gap would be the one to start negotiations with and the Cabinet would take if from there.
Moldavistan - December 8, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
Thanks Hudson Bay,
And as the very unofficial ambassador of Halifax, we welcome you to our fine city. :)
Best Regards,
Judith Gap - December 8, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
Welcome to Canada! Over the weekend, I'll be attempting to contact you and discuss opportunities for foreign relations. Would there be any difficulty in me registering and visiting you on Gatesville's forums?

That is true, why does JG always get labled as a miss?
Jack_Tarr - December 8, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
cause Judith is usually a girl's name.

Agreed Jack Tarr,
I live in Halifax, was born on Cape Breton Island, and back east I have never met a male type with the name Judith. Met a guy Tracey once, but never a Judith. Maybe it's an Upper Canadian thing. :D

Thanks Freezing Cold Water!
I see you are from Alberta. Was there for a bit when I was in the army. Not from Edmonton by chance, are ya?
If ya are, I had a flat on 99th Street and 90th, just up from Whyte Ave (fun place). Anyway, to bed with me.
Best regards,

...the truth is far more intersting though. JG has posted the rationale behind the name -- somewhere.

Great nations of Canada, I bid you greetings!
Two years ago, on December 10, 2003, Gatesville was founded by our great leader, Gates the God. What began as a single nation, and a dream to reshape the face of Nation States, has now become a colossal force in the valiant struggle for sovereignty. Today, the Great Gatesville Enterprise, consisting of the Gatesville Home Region and her Franchises, now total 1609 nations while her collective UN delegates boast some 460 UN endorsements! Given that we are a player-created entity, these milestone achievements are nothing short of astounding, and I now tip my hat to the many, many people who have worked so very hard to get us to where we are today.
So, without further ado, I officially announce the commencement of, effective immediately, the Gatesville Birthday Bash being held in the
Gatesville Forum until December 25, 2005. All nations of Canada are welcome, we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and no forum registration is required during this period. We hope to see you there!

Dear Judith Gap,
It was a pleasure to see that you have made your first visit to the Gateville forum. You are most welcome in Gatesville. I shall be popping in to the GV forum this week to begin a discourse regarding a possible embassy swap between our two great regions, so when time permits, feel free to drop back in and check in on things.
Oh yes, we have found plenty of VIP parking for those doughnut and beer trucks that you mentioned!
Hope to see you soon.
