Title: The West Pacific embassy

Judith Gap - November 3, 2005 01:15 PM (GMT)
I have instructed the Minister of Regional Affairs to close The West Pacific's embassy while we review the progress of the region and decide whether or not to re-establish relations with the region. At present, the new government has not set up enough content by which we can come to any conclusions.

I am confident that with the core members who are listed, the region will continue to meet our diplomatic standards, but until I have evidence I regret that I must take this action.

Oh man! And I was just starting to have fun with the diplomatic immunity. Pout!

QUOTE
I come before you today with news that may anger, and cause great distress.

The West Pacific Dominion was a disaster. It was initialized entirely wrong and ended up costing us more than it benefitted us. We felt that we were going to do great good, but the error of our ways is lit up so that none could miss it. I recognize that now, as I should have done sooner.

I come before you bearing Biyah's resignation. He chose to instill emergency powers into me, which were used to dissolve the West Pacific Dominion. The integrity and value of our constitution is what we have hurt most. It's rightful rule must be restored, and from hereforth shall be. I submit myself to the Courts. The choice as to who is to be the next Prime Minister is yours to make.

As the final action of martial law, I have approved the movement of forces to come in and endorse the rightful delegate, Eli. Minineenee must abandon the delegacy, and help restore it to its rightful owner.

Long live the West Pacific, its Constitution, and its people.

Minineenee is the current delegate and people on the boards are calling for members to endorse Wickedly Evil People. The current delegate doesn't seem to have the forum's control yet.

Martial law a disaster? I couldn't see *that* coming.

I know it's a feeder region, so things are a bit different but:

The court is to determine who the PM is?

The powers that are stepping down have decided who the next delegate is to be?

Bear with me as I'm still reading threads. I'll be modifying this post as I read more.

Minineenee resigned from the UN

I suggest that there is an amnesty for the sake of the region, and that those concerned with the 'rebellion' should be stripped of their rank and demoted as punishment.

QUOTE (Clockwork Isle)
Say what you want, but the Dominon did what it was supposed to do. It got us off our buts and active again. I for one joined as I have said before to keep my job as ADN Ambassador, but I do not fault what was done. I feel it was neccassary to get us up and active again. I am not saying it was done in the right manner, but it was done none the less. So we have to move on or fester over it.

While some people are advocating trials, this discussion is relatively young and is not near to a conclusion.

In discussing what might be done with the Dominion board (new one). Several members suggested alternative uses, which caused:
QUOTE (Shasoria)
Nah, won't be done. It's locked, and I want it to stay that way.

Requirement for Citizenship: sign the following
QUOTE (Freedom and Pride)
Since no one knows who is loyal to what...we need a list of actual councillors. I will not be inclined to let those vote who participated in active revellion. As such, I would wish for all those loyalists to post the following.

I_____________confirm that the Constitution of The West Pacific is the only soverign document by which this region maybe governed. I believe in peace and a unified region, but the rule of law must come first.

This is being signed by many, but the requirement to swear an oath and the superceeding of offices is seen by many who were planning the new constitutional convention as more dictatorial than the move to recreate TWP.

QUOTE (Biyah)
I always held loyalty to the West Pacific, not to any one pice of paper. The Constitution held the ideals for a stable (and fun) region, I have lived through many regimes... as have you.

If one or two people had agreed with me, I would have easily decided that I was just imagining things and continued on. But only one person, at first, didnt like the 'hypothetical' situations I presented. When 10 - 12 people agree things stink, that sends a strong message.

Getting punished by the nightnurse - I'll bet that was their goal all along!

bweezy - November 4, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
NOt that I ever acted like the most rational leader when I was involved with regional government, but this may be the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Judith Gap - November 4, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
Ok, I've devoted more energy to this today than I have time for.

Neandertron - November 25, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
I there any news one getting our embassy re-opened? I seem to have lost the topic where I originally requested it.

Judith Gap - November 26, 2005 07:59 PM (GMT)
I've been out of town for a bit. I will try getting this started again.
