Title: Former High Schools!
canada6 - September 28, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
Just out of curiosity... for those of you that attended high school in Canada, what high school did you go to?
The last I heard from my past high school, it was shut down circa 2001.

"Former?" We're not all a bunch of old cane-wielding prune-juice drinking old fogeys here. :P

Kelvin High School. Better known as the former high school of Neil Young. (And former CFLer Glen Scrivner, NHLers Randy Gilhen and Mike Keane, and Olympic Badminton player Kara Solmundson). Apparently, the girl who was in the Aerosmith video for "Eat the Rich" also went to Kelvin. She was one year behind me, and didn't look nearly as good in real life as she did in the Video.

Unionville High School a.k.a. the arts school. I wasn't in the arts program....I just lived closed to it :P
Notable graduates: Hayden Christensen, Emmanuel Sandhu (Olympic figure skater), that girl from Ready or Not, the guy from Radio Free Roscoe....plus a whole lot of other people that were in bad movies, bad tv shows, and bad commercials.
Ummmm.......GO WOLVES!
:P

First year of high school, I went to a K-12 Christian school. (I'd gone there since grade 7, but it still seemed like a new school because we moved buildings, and this was the first year we moved classrooms because the teachers used to come to us the years before.) Second year I went to the large public school in Regina, and now I'm going to the only real high school in Prince Albert. (There are others, but this one's the main one.)

At least you had a good nick name. We were the Kelvin Clippers. A Clipper is a vessel found in the oceans. (for more detail, just ask JT, I'm sure he will be able to tell us everything about a Clipper ship). I've never figired out what a Clipper ship has to do with a school located smack dab in the middle of the continent, far away from the Oceans.

The year I left, they changed their name at the Christian school from the Grizzlies to the Eagles (to be more "Biblical" I guess.) I suppose they didn't realize all the Christian schools would call their sports teams that.

THe nickname of the main boys Catholic High School in Winnipeg is "the Crusaders." I always thought the "Inquisitioners" would have been far more cool (and controversial).

Surely the word is "Inquisitors"? :P
Inquizitors might be good for a trivia team. :D

Y'know, I don't even remember what our animal was! I think it was a tiger... maybe :P No, wait, that was my elementary school -- the Twin Rivers Tigers.
I wonder what SH was...? I'll have to ask someone!

Carson Graham Senior Secondary. Home of the Eagles and lead pipe beatings.

We were the Bobcats--I think our most notable alum was a pro tennis player named Jenny Klitch, who ranked as high as 147th in the world and who managed to make it to the third round of the French Open in 1984. She was also the aunt of a girlfriend I had briefly.

North West Central High School
found in highly unremarkable Plenty SK, I don't suspect it has any celebrities among its alumni

Shaunavon High School, home of the Shaunavon Shadows/Silhouettes which has produced um, Braydon Coburn(although he was only there for one year before moving to Notre Dame) and um, I think Haley Wickenheiser might have gone to school there for a year or two before moving to Calgary and that's about it really.
