Title: Last day of school
Description: The BIG day

Magnate of The Albertan Empire - August 4, 2005 06:33 AM (GMT)
Well today will be my last day at school. My big project presentation will happen this afternoon in front of a full house of spectators, press and my client.....ya im a tad nervious. But if my site doesnt get picked, thats ok with me. Its been a fun 2 years and now its all over YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

no promises, but if I dont get picked, I could set it up so everyone here can use it. You can make your own web pages with it and its got a semi-decent chat room.

Im off to try and sleep, but i doubt that will happen tonite

When do you find out the results?

Magnate of The Albertan Empire - August 5, 2005 04:20 PM (GMT)
Wow, thanks for all the support everyone. It was quite the experience yesterday, presenting in a room full of people. My presentation went ok. I forgot 90% of my prepared speech, so I winged it for the first little while. Everyone liked the site, and didnt have too many errors on the screen.

Unfortunatly my project didnt get chosen for the website, but a couple of my components did. So its a little dissapointing. Good thing is I dont have to fix any of the bugs.

So school is done for me! Im off to Victoria for 10 days to go camping and relax. Tonite ill put the link to my website on so you guys can hava a look at it.

Thanks again for the support.

Regards

You're all horrible... My first day is the 11th. <_<

Beaver-Country-Canada - August 5, 2005 05:53 PM (GMT)
Mine is the 7th, for Orientation. I wonder if it'll start later next year because I'll be a second year?

What do you call that, anyone? Freshmen, something, Junior, Senior is how it goes, right?

Hmm...

I wonder? We all start the same day... Freshman have to start a day earlier, but luckily I'm not that anymore.

Freshmen is a sexist term. First-year is preferable in academic circles.

Oilers Fans - August 5, 2005 07:50 PM (GMT)
I've got first day on the 2nd. Dammit.

Says the writer. :P I've never heard one of my instructors use "first-year" over "freshman"

Really? All my profs (and pretty much everyone else) uses the term "first year".

In Manitoba, it was "First Year". Freshman was never used. I suspect its a geographical thing, or maybe a Canada/US thing.
