Is anyone else getting into
Rockstar-INXS?
This is the new reality show where INXS is finally trying to find a replacement for Michael Hutchence through the magic of an American Idol style reality show. I'm really getting into it, primarily because the contestants are "rockers" and not your standard drab pop style singers you see on Idol. There are also four Canadians in the final 12, which is interesting.
Tonight, I was pretty blown away by both Jordis and Mig. Ty was pretty good too. Lots of shaky performances though. Ironically, I'm not a big fan of any of the four Canadians that are left.

I believe there were only 4 Canadians to begin with...
Pretty impressive if you ask me, for such a small country pop.-wise, we have a lot of representation on this show.
It really bothers me that Tara Sloane of Joydrop is now a contestant on this show. I think if you've had your video played round-the-clock on Muchmusic, then you've already had your 15 minutes of fame. :P

I've never heard of Tara Sloane or Joydrop. Then again, I'm old, and watch Muchmoremusic instead of Muchmusic, which could explain why I haven't heard of her.

Really? They had one hit, "Sometimes wanna die"...and it was played on Much, and the radio, all the time.
To me, Tara Sloane's pretty well heard of....

I'm trying to download it right now...to see if I recognize it.

This probably won't be familiar to anyone outside of Ontario....but another Canadian girl on the show (I think her name was Suzie), is the voice behind the "Everyone Loves Marineland" commercials :D

I know that voice! My son was at Marineland last week when his grandparents took him to Toronto and Niagara Falls - we get the commercials on cable out here. (He said Mareineland sucked, at least compared to Chicago's Shedd Acquarium).
I downloaded "I sometimes want to die". I recognize the song. I wouldn't have known it was Tara singing had you not said so.

This has always been my biggest problem with the Idol shows--since I'm a rocker at heart, I have no patience to hear the pop-music stylings of fifty different singers, many of them horrible.
I considered trying out for it--I have a pretty good singing voice--but all I know how to sing are rock songs. With few exceptions they weren't taking rockers.

Oh, it does suck. The only good part of it is the roller-coaster ^_^
And I think they've figured that out too.....Marineland's
newest commercial is about the ride :D

That's what my son said. In fact, the only souvenir he brought back from marineland was a shirt featuring a roller coaster.
