Title: Help Daemon Engrave His iPod!
Daemon - July 15, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
Daemon is ordering his iPod (20GB, 4th gen, colour) right now, and he is stuck on the engraving screen! He needs help....
There are two lines, but I only need help for one of them. One of them will have my name (Daemon W. Smithwick the IV, Esq.), but the top line needs to have something cool. I'm restricted to 27 characters. This blows mightily, as most of the lines that I want are greater than 27 characters.
My top three candidates:
Nigh to tears and memory (Oscar Wilde quote)
Sound and Fury (Macbeth)
In my beginning is my end (T.S. Elliot)
Any suggestions? Remember, they have to be less than or equal to 27 characters...

Why not go for a longer version of the Macbeth quote:
Full of sound and fury
Seems quite iPod-ish to me.

I was thinking about that, but the issue is that I am euphonically fickle, so what if the song that I love now seems puerile in a couple of months? I'd have to throw out my iPod and get a new one!
I like both Al's (/Esses) and HB's suggestions. Al's has classical charm, while HB's has a certain touch of pretension that I find enticing.
Hmmmm...

"A certain touch of pretension" is 2 chars too long.
"Euphonically fickle" is nice, given that we're talking about an iPod.

Heehee.
I also like the "Sound and Fury" quote, whether it's just that short bit or a longer version.
