Description: With regards to a stronger defence

Where Are The CBs - July 4, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
The Nation of Where Are The CBs is interested in purchasing some used sub-marines or Destroyers. If you are interest, please post in this trend:
-What type of boat
-Age of boat
-Something towards the line of specs for the boat
-Who much you are willing to sell it for (lowest price)

Boreal Tundra - July 5, 2005 06:27 AM (GMT)
We would like to offer the SeaHunter SSK submarines to fulfill your requirements. The SeaHunters have a design service lifespan of 20 years, and hull lifespan of 50 years. Service life is extended using SLEP (Service Life Extension Program) every 10 years. In addition, there have been various SEP (System Enhancement Project) devised and implimented over the service life.

SeaHunter Class SSK
Displacement: 520t dived
Length: 48.6 m
Beam: 4.7 m
Draught: 4.3 m
Propulsion: Diesel-electric, 2 diesels/battery, 2 shafts
Speed: Surface 17knots max, 8 cruise/Submerged 20 max, 4 cruise
Endurance: 8000km cruising surfaced/400km cruising, 25km max speed submerged
Complement: 22 (5 Officers, 17 Ratings, 3 spare berths available)
Armament: 8 535mm torpedo tubes (16 torpedoes) and 24 external mines
Sensors:
Passive and Active Sonar, Bow and Flank Arrays
Attack and Search Periscopes
Navigation Radar
Electronic warfare equipment
Ejectable decoy systems

The following SeaHunters are available:

Category 1 Reserve - 6 $90M each
Fully operational, requiring only service fitout to be ready for usage (1-2 weeks/boat). They are 20-22 years old and have undergone SLEP-I extending service life to 30 years. They are also fully upgraded to SEP-A12, the most current operational capabilities.

Category 2 Reserve - 14 $60-65M each
Currently undergoing slow rate SLEP-I ($10-15M to complete,) these vessels are also 20-22 years old and have not received the SEP-A12 ($15M/boat.) These vessels would take 4-8 months to complete though they could be made sea ready within 4 weeks if the purchaser chooses to complete the SLEP at their own shipyards. This will save you approximately half the SLEP costs but, take 50% more time to complete. (OOC: Time needed to retrain and retool your facilities)

Category 4 Reserve - 23 $50M each
These vessels have been stood down, 25-26 years old, they have undergone SLEP-I and are currently upgraded to SEP-A8. Upgrading to SLEP-II and SEP-A12 would cost $35M each and would take 12 months per boat. Note, SEP-A8 has less capable sonar software and cannot handle the most modern torpedo types (Torpedo fire control upgrades were introduced in SEP-A10.) Updating only to SEP-A12 will cost $22M and take 3 months each, SLEP-II could be done later, guarenteed not to exceed $25M however, it is likely you would be able to do the major work at your own shipyards, probably only needing contractor assistance which could be negotiated at that time.

Currently, our facilities have space for 3 boats at a time, we could free up and an additional 2 berths within the next month. This would allow us to have the initial 6 boats ready in a month during which time we could accomodate your personnel on familiarization and conversion courses. We would also supply technical and advisory personnel for up to 1 year while your crews and maintenance personnel work up to full operational status.

Additional purchases could be negotiated for more advanced torpedoes and manufacturing technology for the same, training facilities and personnel and possibly other ventures you may find usefull.

In addition, we have several AAW destroyers and ASW frigates which may be made available for resale in the near future.

OOC: It's made up, but thanks for thinking that it's real.

Boreal Tundra - July 7, 2005 05:31 AM (GMT)
Your offer is accepted, the Where Are The CBs Navy will receive 10 SeaHunter SSKs for a total price of AC1.012B ($880M) as follows: AC350 immediate payment, AC350 upon first delivery and remaining AC312 upon final delivery.

The first three Cat 1 boats will be ready for shipment in two weeks and transported via Flo-Flo Deckship (like this one) and the next group of three will follow two weeks later via another such ship. Work will then commence on the four Cat 2 boats which will take up to five months to complete (boats in similar condition were selected to coordinate the timing) and follow on a third deckship. Transportation time is approximately two weeks so, the first boats will arrive in about one month with the last four delivered within seven months.

While the boats are being prepared and transported, The Royal Boreal Tundran Navy will be happy to accomodate 4 classes of up to 100 officers and ratings at the submarine training centre for type conversion training, including field time hosted aboard SeaHunters of the RBTN and RBTNReserve. These courses will take 3-4 weeks thus, your first class will be ready when the initial submarines reach your nation. In addition, a training cadre of 5 officers and 10 senior ratings will accompany the first 3 boats and be available for shore and boat based training for up to 1 year after initial delivery. Finally, the manufacturer and prime contractor for the SLEP and SEP, Nordseewerke GmbH, will supply a training session for up to 120 submarine maintenance personnel and a team of advisors for up to 6 months after final delivery to ensure optimum operations of your vessels.

We have taken the liberty of informing Kongelig FlåteMunitions Fabrikk in Wolfsport, makers of the KFF-642, the RBTN current 535mm torpedo. We highly recommend upgrading your arsenal to these advanced torpedoes in order to maximize the capabilities of the SeaHunter.

Where Are The CBs - July 7, 2005 06:05 AM (GMT)
I would like to thank Boreal Tundra for its officer classes, my selected officers are on there way now. We would also like to thank you for contacting the KFF for informing them that we may be interested in purchasing some of their equipment, although we make no commentmit till we see the bill.

After our navy has been fully assembled we ask the nation of Boreal Tundra if they would like to perticipate in war games, as to give my officers some sort of experince in the water.

Boreal Tundra - July 11, 2005 05:47 AM (GMT)
