Title: Sports League
Description: What sports league should be provided

Where Are The CBs - July 3, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
This is an entertainment issue and I was unsure where to put it.

Ess - July 3, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
Before I vote, what do 8 and 9 entail?

Almonaster - July 3, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
And to represent a braoder spread of views, I feel there should be a "none of the above" option.

Before I vote, what do 8 and 9 entail?

8. League of Extrordinary Gentlemen- Every nation that perticipates in this league will give a "superhero" and they will be forced to use unnatural powers against each other

9. League of Nations- In an elaborate paint-ball game where each Nation donates a regimiate and they face off against the others.

Al- I will put in the None Of the above opinion in now (give me a sec though I have dail-up)

Where Are The CBs - July 3, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
I can not edit the poll sorry.

Almonaster - July 3, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
No biggie : - Anyone with a variant proposal can always post here anyway, just treat it as a suggestion for next time.

I think you made a good choice. We have generally run sports as RP events.

I've been wondering recently if some of the OOC threads have become too roleplay oriented. Perhaps we need a section for "Social RP" for such threads as the shoreline spot, etc. What do others think?

kana da - July 3, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
I think there should be 3 OOC-type sections:

1. Social RP type threads--the mall, the Spot, etc.
2. Spammy threads--HTAP, DTAP, etc.
3. Just discussion threads--that one should keep the water cooler name, I think it's cool ^_^

Where Are The CBs - July 3, 2005 04:56 AM (GMT)
If someone can give me a crash coarse on how to make a web site I think I will be able to run the winning league

P.S= Poll is offically closed Wednsday at 9 am

Where Are The CBs - July 3, 2005 08:41 PM (GMT)
We need more votes we got a 3-way tie.

I think that is a good idea, hb!!! ^_^

I voted but, the 3 way tie is still there (you did mean CFL type football right?)

We have a baseball league and I would like to add some other types of motor sports, F1, CHAMP, Off-road, motorcycling etc.

The plan is for the winning league I will open another trend and in that trend nations will sign up and we will decide the rules to use, I would preffer CFL rules because if Toronto can win in that league anyone can, if hockey wins I'll have to docter the rules a bitter :D lol

Redundancies - July 4, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
As far as hockey is concerned, I was planning on having a league through Yahoo like with the baseball league (assuming, of course, they get this lockout over with in time for the season to start). I don't mind if you start a league, too, but it might cause individual conflicts unless you had a different methodology in mind (the Yahoo leagues use the stats of real players in real games)

Just thought that might be of interest.

Where Are The CBs - July 4, 2005 05:18 PM (GMT)
Nope you can have hockey, then it will only be a tie between Soccer and Stock Car Racing.

Durass - July 5, 2005 04:50 PM (GMT)
Would prefer F1 or GP racing so, didn't vote for stock car. (Them boys only know how to turn left.)

Almonaster - July 5, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
I used to watch F!, but its getting increasingly over-regulated IMHO. The Indianapolis fiasco pretty much pulled the plug on my interest. How would you see a fantasy league working?

Observe:

Player One:
neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa...

Player Two:
neeerRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa...

You will notice that player two has a much faster car.

Rofl!

Kronemonsteland and co. - October 4, 2005 04:41 PM (GMT)
If anyone would like it I could put up a racing league.Just PM me with with your team name, numbers, and drivers. If you like you could make up your own.

Durass - October 5, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
I'd be interested, how would it work?

Kronemonsteland and co. - October 5, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
Okay, this might be a little long, but is an essential read if you apply.

Well,at the beginning of the year nations get 3 test sessions. They can test wherever they want.Every country that sets up a race team gets a race, and depending on whether there is a lot of teams,(You get 3 drivers and one other driver as a fill-in when one gets injured) each country gets either one race or two.You can say what your track is like, for example,my track will be like Le Mans in France.Back to the testing sessions, then. You can test whatever you want, but only a maximum of 3 items per test. These items are:

Chassis
Engine
Suspension
Driver Skill
Pit Crew Skill
(Keep in mind you have 200 attribute points to make your original stats for Chassis,Engine, and Suspension)

You only get one test per driver,so think carefully.Once everyone has finished testing(That's 3 days before race 1), they go and practice, and who has tested there will be more familiar with the track, and post better times, bar any mistakes/mechanical failures.A newer driver will push the car a bit more and be more prone to mistakes, and vice versa. Then they qualify, and this will see the better drivers shine. Finally, they race, and a lot of things can happen. For example,I may have the best car,but [insert nation name here]'s driver #3 could spin and my driver crashes,or he could avoid the wreck but have an engine failure,or he could win,but the drivers who tested there and did well in practice will have a better chance of winning.

Also I should mention you get 2 testing dates for each driver(Including your spare) after the season starts. If you want to apply, use this format:

Team Name:
Driver 1:
Driver 2:
Driver 3:
Spare driver:
Numbers(please put only 3,as the spare driver dosen't drive in a race, unless there's an injury)

Okay, that's it.The deadline is the 20th October 2005,and the season will start on the 30th.I will not start without at least 3 teams, however.

Boreal Tundra - October 6, 2005 01:19 AM (GMT)
So is the racing based on RP or do you have simulator / gaming method?

And yes, I might be interested as well.

PRACTICE for the Practice Race 100 at the 1 mile Track # 1
Gordon looks good for practice race

Top 5 Times

DRIVER-----------TEAM-------------------------------Time

Kimi Raikkonen--Kronemonsteland Motorsports---20.994 seconds
Jeff Gordon-------Kronemonsteland Motorsports---20.999 seconds
Jeff Gordon-------Kronemonsteland Motorsports---21.040 seconds
Joe Emberton Jr.-Kronemonsteland Motorsports---21.289 seconds

As you can see,Jeff Gordon's test seems to have done him good as he has 3 of the top 5 times, before his engine expired with about 15 minutes to go.Hopefully his new engine will be as good as the old one.

Qualifying for Practice race 100 at Track # 1
Jeff Gordon collects first pole

Row 1
1.Jeff Gordon--------2.Joe Emberton Jr.
Row 2
3.Kimi Raikkonen---4.Jimmie Johnson

Joe Emberton Jr. will be going to the back after he crashed his car on the come in lap of qualifying.

Race

The Practice Race 100 started off well, and Joe Emberton Jr.'s backup car saw him quickly get up to 2nd.Then a more than hopeful attempt to pass Jeff Gordon saw him wreck for the second time this weekend on lap 37.That brought out caution 1.Kimi Raikkonen re-took second, then the lead after Jeff Gordon pitted on lap 52.Raikkonen stayed out as long as he could, before pitting on lap 61.He managed to keep Gordon behind, but Johnson was another story, after a pass on lap 67.

Gordon got by Raikkonen on lap 71,and Raikkonen's car looked to be having handling issues.Johnson led comfortably until lap 87,when Gordon got to him.On lap 92,Gordon got by and drove off to win the practice race.
