Title: Mister Tony for Foreign Affairs

Mister Tony - June 21, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
The Rogue Nation of Mister Tony is a moderate, sensible, if somewhat cynical nation--perfect for the enlightening and backstabbing realm of Foreign Affairs.

Interestingly enough, I am not Mister Tony--the name merely refers to the best radio host in the land, Mr. Tony Kornheiser.

And if you're out on your bike tonight, do wear white...

Which land are you referring to? :eyebrow:

Why, North America my friend!

Not living anywhere that gets ESPN radio, I hadn't any idea who Tony Kornheiser was.

Yeah me too!!!

I believe Mister Tony may be the most enthusiastic Tony Kornheiser fan here in Canada. I like Kornheiser on P.T.I, but that's all the exposure I have to him.

Since you are brand new to the region you may have missed Checker's post about Canada's Conflict of Interest Guidelines:

All candidates must remember that they have to disclose any conflicts of interest, in accordance with the Conflict of Interest Guidelines.

As stated in the law:
QUOTE
For greater certainty, a Government Position in a region outside of the Region of Canada shall be defined as any position of influence within a governing structure of a region outside the Region of Canada, including those that are equivalent to the Canadian positions of “Minister“ “Deputy Minister“ “Ambassador”, "Delegate", "Founder" and “CIA Intelligence Agent“.

Anyone who holds such positions outside of this region, must formally declare them here.

Have you posted any government positions you have outside the region?

hudson bay - June 26, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
On the outside chance that you are more of a weekday poster, I'll repeat my question:

Do any of the nations you control hold any governmental positions in regions outside of the Region of Canada?

Don't worry, holding (or not holding) a government post outside the region does not disqualify you from holding office in Canada. It's an issue of being open and upfront with the voters of the region.

However, failure to make a disclose will result in the lost of your position should you win election:

QUOTE

5. Where a government member or candidate has failed to properly disclose an outside governmental interest as mandated in sections 1-3, such member or candidate shall be suspended from holding a government position in the Region of Canada for a period of not less than 60 days.

You are of course quite free to ignore my question. The voters of the region will draw their own conclusion from that information as well…
