Boreal Broadcasting News - Business Report

Hapag BT officials announced this morning that construction of the first Pentathalon class container ship would commence in the next few days at the company's new shipyard in Wolfsport.

The Pentathalon class is the first large scale civilian use of the pentamaran style ship design and is expected to be one of, if not the largest container ships in the world. Furthermore, there is an already designed variation for a RO-RO type vessel using the same hull design and primary machinery.

Hapag BT expects the ship to be operational within two years with the Wolfsport yards producing additional ships every 11-13 months afterwards. The ship is expected to carry between 15000 and 20000 TEUs while the RO-RO version would have 30 to 40 km of laneway.

Also interested in the project is the Royal Boreal Tundran Armed Forces which is looking at the RO-RO class as possible replacements for some of it's reserve logistics ships.

Should have but, I was hoping for some response and trying to flesh out the details while I waited. Been sidetracked and since no one said anything was letting it slide.

In preparation for receiving Pentathalon class ships, Hapag BT began updating the docks in several locations through out Boreal Tundra. Hapag offices in other nations have also been checking the operations an ensuring suitable facilities will be available.

Coast Guard and Ministry of Transportation officials have confirmed that the BTMV Pentathalon has completed most of it's sea handling certifications and should be ready for full certification within the month.

The recently launched 500m pentamaran container vessel, BTMV Pentathalon, began it's first shipping run in Wolfsport today carrying a approximately 10 000 TEU, not quite half it's total capacity. The ship will visit all the major ports on Boreal Tundra's coast between Wolfsport and Arcturus where, filled to capacity, she'll head across the ocean to Durass. With a total capacity of 21 750 TEUs and a speed approaching 30 knots, the Pentathalon will definately be the gold medal standard in the container shipping industry.

Hapag BT officials are currently working with other nations in the region to upgrade or create port facilities capable of handling the vessel. Furthermore, it was announced that a second production yard is being built by the Durassian Transporttation Directorate for licensed production of the vessel class. This will be in a addition to the yard in Wolfsport which will launch the second vessel within the next few months.
