Title: Voting in UN resolutions
Description: Can non-UN nations vote?

What is Canada's policy on non-UN nations voting in the region polls on UN resolutions? Is/should voting in UN resolution polls be restricted to UN members only?

my view currently is I allow everyone to vote. I have a collection of IP Addresses to make sure that no one has more than one account on this site. (There is one duplicate account that i've tracked down already). So if you have ten puppets, it still means you only get one vote.

However, if people feel strongly, the Constitution can be amended to restrict the voting to UN nations only.

However, I like the idea of allowing everyone to vote. Directly or indirectly, the UN does affect all members.

I'm fine with using the forum to keep nations honest. I wasn't sure that applied to UN resolutions as well as elections.

I personally wouldn't vote if I wasn't a member of the UN. If something ridiculous came up, I would consider it, but that would probably be voted down anyway. Especially in a close vote, the countries who are going to be affected should have a say. On that note, I'm new to NS and I am considering withdrawing from the UN. After passage of the latest resolution, my political feedoms shot from excellent to below average. If the UN is going to infringe on the freedoms of my people in such a drastic fashion, I'd rather go it alone. Is this typical?

Monkeys rule. :P

You're not the only one who has had this reaction. I wouldn't say its common, but there is a vocal minority of nations who think about leaving the UN due to its recent resolutions.

"my view currently is I allow everyone to vote."
I think that this is probably the fairest way Bweezy as you rightly said UN Resolutions will have some impact on Nations, regardless of their membership status.

That's something that you will have to decide monkeylandria. Just remember, that some Resolutions will have a positive impact rather than negative. I guess you'll do what you want though and that's absolutely fine - it's your Nation!
