Title: question for the government of the South Pacific

| QUOTE |
| The SP is not interested in having an elected Delegacy; suggested reforms move us further from that position. |
The above quote, comes to us via a thread which has been ongoing in the conservative thread re: recent changes to your laws and procedures. To me, this is a shocking and disturbing quote that I never saw coming at all. Given all this, I would like to ask, is this offical government position, or, is it a personal comment? A quick response would be appreciated.
As a note, it has come to my attention, that a comment I made before editing this was taken as a personal attack. In it, I thought I was joking in a manner seen in Question period all the time however, that person has expresed concerns of being personally insulted. While i'm not entirely sure how this happned, I must express my deepest regrets for such a comment. As such, I apologize to DWC who has taken personal offense at that comment.

Once again, I hope the source of that quote has been considered. Did it come from TSP's Government and in particular, someone in authority in that area or was it just someone voicing their opinion?

Jack glad to see your interest in inter-regional affairs. With any luck, one day you might be interested in being an ambassador or even MoFA for Canada. The details of this exchange (and whom the parties involved are) can be found
here

Thank you HB. I have read all the threads and in fact I still have a non UN presence in TSP and visit the boards frequently.
I do NOT like politics and am doubtful that I will ever seek office here. I will however, do whatever is asked of me to protect our region or her allies.
The only reason I opened my mouth (ummm errr excercised my fingers) here is to try and prevent what politics all too often causes. That being premature actions and fear in the populace.
IMHO, none of these goings ons are causeing an immediate or even future threat to us. By all means we can discuss it and we certainly must watch it but we need to be careful to do so in a way that does not cause unrest, panic or defamation.
And with that, I think I'll go play in the fun threads for a bit.
I truly hope I have not upset or offended anyone with my statements. I certainly had no intention of doing so.

I am removing my reply and sending it as a PM instead as it doesn't belong in a forum that is the South Pacific Embassy.

In response to your request. The statement above, should not be considered in any form an official statement from the government of the South Pacific.
Kindest regards
(Kloister, Secretary of the Region, on behalf of the Government and people of the South Pacific)
