Nasicournia Update: [30-DEC-2004]

--Nasicournia contains 126 nations, with 26 in the Borderlands. NasiCorps troops are thoroughly deployed on missions at the moment, the NIA is out on covert ops, and our Diplomatic Corps are deployed in allied regions, putting a large dent in our population. We will start recruiting again after the New Year, which usually sparks the beginning of a huge increase in Nasicournian activity.

Government

--Current delegates: Nasicournia - SuperVegeta, Nasicournian Borderlands - Calypso Bridesmen.

--Nasicournia prepares to finalize the vote on SuperVegeta's Cabinet.

--Pope Hope is back from a long vacation, on which she had no internet access. It's good to be back. ;)

--End Time and Nationa, previously active government officials in the Nasicournian government, have both returned back to NationStates and Nasicournia. We welcome them both back warmly!

--Our Regional Geography Expert, Communistic Soviets, will begin working on the new map after the holidays.

--Nasicournia prepares to finish organizing and vote on our Constitution.

Departments

--The Foreign Affairs Department has had a very busy holiday season!

--We are happy to announce expanding relations with Europa and Canada, as both plan to open embassies in Nasicournia. We are also extremely happy to welcome Orioni herself to our lands!

--The Grenvali United and Freedom Fighters have opened formal embassies in Nasicournia. We honored to have old friends and new establishing closer relations with our region.

--Nasicournia welcomes Flemingovia and Insane Power from our long-time allied region of the North Pacific to our boards, and we have also been gifted with a visit from a very good and old friend, Blackshear, very recently. We hope to see much more of all of you!

--Nasicournia is elated to announce the finalization of a formal alliance with City Ankh Morpork! This was a long time coming, and we are honored to count them close friends and now formal allies.

--We are preparing to close votes on formal alliances with Dystopia and WWSETI.

--The NIA has accepted four new Agents to our Department, bringing the active total to 20 Agents. We have also purged our inactive NIA Board list and added several new active members.

--The NSC reports high security with NasiCorps on the lookout, SuperVegeta in the delegate seat, and the addition of several active new NSC Board Members.

--NasiCorps is deployed defending throughout the NS world, and is currently training new troops with Hrmmm and SWATH in the Commander Office.

--"South Asia, Tsunami" is the newest discussion in our Foreign Politics section, while "Ukraine fuzz" also continues. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all people affected by this horrible disaster.

UN

--Surprisingly, so far Nasicournians do not support the current UN Resolution, "Support Hemp Production." It is unexpected, as Nasicournia welcomed a good population of nations into our borders from our allied region of Cannabis Island when the region was destroyed. Reasons sited include tax breaks given to those who farm hemp causing a collapse in the farming industry, and for those against the production of marijuana, the fact that this resolution could be used to legally farm marijuana for recreational purposes.

--Nasicournia congratulates several new residents on their recently-acquired UN membership!

We welcome all new arrivals to Nasicournia and the Nasicournian Borderlands, including those who will be arriving once our gates are re-opened to immigration. A special welcome to our allies from The Chemistry of 923, who have chosen to move here with the disbanding of their own region. We are honored to welcome so many esteemed leaders and long-time friends into our region.

Nasicournia Update: [20-JAN-2005]

--Nasicournia contains 155 nations, with 33 in the Borderlands. NasiCorps troops are thoroughly deployed on missions at the moment, the NIA is out on covert ops, and our Diplomatic Corps are deployed in allied regions, putting a large dent in our population. The beginning of the revitalization of activity season has begun, and a small of amount of recruitment has started again.

Government

--Current delegates: Nasicournia - SuperVegeta, Nasicournian Borderlands - TBA. Nasicournia said good-bye to an old ally and great friend, Calypso Bridesmen. We hope he returns to us some day.

--Nasicournia has elected SuperVegeta's Cabinet!

The nominee for Acting NSC Director is Majesto, while Forestria Union is up to re-affirm his Advisory role of Honorary Director. Majesto has a lot of fresh new ideas to re-structure the NSC, and we are excited that he is now a part of our region.

--Nasicournian Intelligence Agency (NIA) Director positions are also up for vote. SWATH and Tuesday Heights are the nominees, with much support already from the region.

--We will finish our Officer votes up with the positions of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Cartography within the next couple of weeks. Good luck to everyone in the running!

--Residents of Role Play University have moved to Nasicournia with the closing of their historic region. We have been busy with warm welcome parties! Nasicournia is honored to have such a talented group of international leaders join us. RPU and Nasi had a lot in common, so we look forward to many good times to come.

--A vote has been called for our ADN Council Representative, with Remlin and SuperVegeta in the running thus far.

--Nasicournia has arrived at a final draft of our Constitution, which will go to vote for ratification within the next couple of weeks.

--Nasicournia has finally ratified our brand new Constitution! With no votes against, the document has overwhelming support and we are thrilled to finally have all Nasicournian legislation in one place. Celebrations are underway.

--We welcome mental folk as our newest Nasicournian! His dance brings an new air of fun and friendship to our region. ;)

--Plans are underway to vote Nasicournian Borderlands from a recruit region into a regional territory, making NB an official extension of Nasicournia. Nations wishing to experience the Nasicournian lifestyle in a smaller region will be able to move here if this change is made. Once the transition is through, the region will also have an elected delegate of its own.

--Congratulations to Sanctaphrax, voted in as current appointed Delegate of the Borderlands, for holding the delegacy honorably for almost two months now.

--A vote is commencing to make Gateway to Nasicournia the new official recruit region of Nasi in place of the Borderlands. This region will have no password and leave more room for immigrants once word gets out and we start recruiting again. A resident of Nasi or NB will be voted into appointment to become delegate of the new recruit region, guiding immigrants into Nasi proper.

--We are also discussing the development of a new office in Nasicournia; a Vice-Delegate position.

--Nasicournia is also performing another review of our voted-in endorsement cap, with the options to stay as it is or raise it slightly (or other, which has no votes so far). Discussion has commenced and the voting is close for the first time since the application of the cap.

--Nasicournia voted for our very own Unistrut as Deputy Director of the ADN, Gabriels Fountain from our allied region Juxtaposition X for Council President, and Joop for the new position of ADN Polar Bear. Congrats to everyone who has been elected and the recently confirmed-by-Council ADN Cabinet.

Departments

--Nasi is currently voting to confirm Remlin as our new Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Relations Officer.

--Remlin has already opened up alliance talks with the great region of Wysteria. A vote is underway concerning persuing closer relations with Wysteria, with completely positive response so far.

--We continue to support our long-time allies and friends, the residents of the North Pacific. Nasicournia's borders are open for direct admittance of refugees, and we offer our complete assistance of aid and comfort during these trying times.

--After successful talks and treaty negotiation, Nasicournia is also voting on a long-overdue alliance with our close friends from the West Pacific.

--The Province and Europa have opened Embassies on our forum.

--Nasi is voting on whether or not to apply for membership in the Allied Liberation League (ALL). So far this has received 100% support.

--SWATH and Tuesday Heights have been doing a wonderful job serving as active NIA Directors for some time now.

--While Forestria Union has been confirmed Honorary Director of the NSC, Majesto has been voted in as Acting NSC Director. He already has many ideas we are working on implementing.

--After a purge of inactives and re-application process, the NIA currently has sixteen active covert operatives who are achieving levels of unprecedented success.

--The NIA and NSC have developed a new togetherness and collaboration for the betterment of our region, thanks to TH, SWATH, and Maj.

--The NSC recently busted a low-skill forum stalker of our Founder and revealed his true identity as the nation Jake 4. Watch out for this guy. He was copy-catting also low-skill stalker from NS. We apologize to any of our allies or friends that received a visit on their forums from this criminal, and thank everyone that offered their support and evidence during the stalkings.

--Nasicournia contains 102 nations, with 13 in the Borderlands and 15 in Gateway to Nasicournia. NasiCorps is always stationed out of the region, and has reached an all-time high of over 50 nations, 34 of whom are also in the ADN.

--Current Delegate: SuperVegeta

--Given the first slow down of the year, are preparing to open our borders to immigration once again. Gateway to Nasicournia is now officially the new recruit region of Nasi.

--Congratulations to Mental Folk for his election as Nasicournia's ADN Council Representative, and to Unistrut for his election as Nasicournia's A.L.L. Representative!

--So far the region is voting to raise the endorsement cap from two to four endorsements, with a margin of three votes inbetween staying the same or raising. This measure has gathered support with the growth of our own large regional defense army.

--Nasicournia has voted FOR each new region applying for admission to the ADN in the past few months.

Departments

--Remlin is serving Foreign Relations Director of Nasicournia after running unopposed and winning the appointment vote.

--Nasicournia and the West Pacific finalized and formalized our alliance a couple of months ago. NasiCorps was honored to have a great turn out in the defense of the West Pacific two nights ago. Congrats Neenee!

--We continue to support our long-time allies and friends, the residents of the North Pacific. Nasicournia welcomes Treenudity as our newest Nasi-TNP double resident!

--Nasi has opened relations with Stars, the region of TNP exiles. We will continue to provide any assistance asked of us by all residents of the North Pacific oppressed by the current illegitimate government.

--Nasicournia contains 90 nations, with 3 in the Borderlands and 17 in Gateway to Nasicournia. NasiCorps is always stationed out of the region, and has reached an all-time high of over 50 nations, 40 of whom are also in the ADN.

--Current Delegate: SuperVegeta

--Nasicournia is currently holding a delegate election. As dictated by the Nasicournia Constitution, any native may call for a delegate election at any time as long as the current delegate has served at least one month in office. SuperVegeta has been our faithful and dedicated Regional Delegate for 275 days, but recently finalized his decision to return to defending.

--There are three candidates in the delegate election: Katangara, New Cimmeria, and Freedom Rules. All three are long-time Nasi natives, and each would bring different strengths to the delegacy. We wish them luck...the region cannot lose in this election with such fine candidates running.

--Given the impending return of the active NS season, we are preparing to open our borders to immigration once again. Our expanded recruitment team is ready for some action.

--Nasicournia contains 162 nations, with 3 securing the now historical Borderlands and 55 in Gateway to Nasicournia...with more immigrants in transit! NasiCorps is bigger than ever, and as always is completely stationed out of the region.

Government

--Current Elected Delegate: Katangara

--Nasicournia re-opened the Recruitment Team, with unexpected positive results! In less than two weeks, we have almost doubled our population, largely due to the organizational efforts and dedication of Nasi Recruitment Advisor, Helvetica Sans.

We hope to soon surpass our all-time high population, joining the 200 nations club!

--Unistrut, Nasicournia's ADN Council Representative, has tallied Nasi's votes for the ongoing ADN elections. As such, he has cast our votes accordingly for our very own SWATH to serve as the next ADN Deputy Director, and for Joop of Antarctica to serve as Council President. Nasicournia is pleased to share that all the candidates in this election are once again fine examples of national, regional, and organizational leaders--we can't lose no matter what the results!

--Nasicournia has voted FOR each new region applying for admission to the ADN in the past couple of months, and welcomes all new regions to the ADN family!

We are extremely proud of our agents, and have never had one caught in the extremely long history of the NIA!

--NasiCorps is, as always, thoroughly deployed in defense and liberation missions. Yes, this puts a dent in our UN population, but defending is still a passion close to the heart of our region. NasiCorps has also opened up for enlistment of all of our promising newcomers!

--SuperVegeta has joined SWATH as the new elected Co-Commander of NasiCorps! Major re-construction of our famous UN Army is underway.

--NasiCorps has been actively deployed in many recent defense and liberation missions, most recently including Socialism, where NC Cadets made a fine showing of their newly-acquired skills, defense of allied regions The Ocean Of Purity, Zion, and 0000 United Democratic Nations, another defense of Palestine, and a reinforcement mission for our new friends of Kykloios.

--Nasicournia welcomes The Roman Raven Empire back to NS and the ADN, in particular our long-time allies rotcjagman and Fire People!

--We would also like to welcome Domaithius, Founder of The Ocean of Purity, back to the game. Nasicournia is proud to have played a key role in the resurrection and return home of a good ally and friend.

--Katangara has taken UN Debates in Nasi to an all-time "high" (hehe). Making sure he looks out for the best interest of the region, he puts forth his ideas and listens to the ideas of Nasicournians, finally casting his vote based on our democratic tally of UN nation votes.

The Foreign Affairs Department continues to grow!

--Nasicournia has decided to strengthen relations between several regions in order to enlarge the Nasicournia community.

--We are considering an alliance with United Regions. A poll has been opened, but the regions alliance with The Federal Empire is showing doubts in many of Nasicournia’s citizens as to whether an alliance would be ideal. Investigation on this matter is being conducted.

Nasicournia is always looking for new regions they can call friends!

Nasicournia Update: [27-NOVEMBER-2005]


--Nasicournia contains 173 nations, with our immigration region, Gateway to Nasicournia holding 54. We have resumed recruiting in the last couple of days and offer a warm welcome to the immigrants who will soon be joining us.

NasiCorps Command is busy putting the finishing touches on administrative changes, and should soon put the alterations into place, maximizing NasiCorps resources and defender talent to our highest potential. As always, NasiCorps soldiers have their UN nations stationed outside of the region and ready to fight for the sovereignty of innocent regions at need. NC is also increasing mission cooperation with allies, and we expect a renewed successful era in defense to begin very soon.

Nasicournia has recently added a number of trusted residents to our forum staff. Gratitude and congratulations to SWATH and Majesto, who joined the Administration team, and to our new Global Moderators: Astarial, New Cimmeria, Gasponia, and Valiturus. Rumor has it more appointments may be on the way, to continue the successful monitoring of our safe and friendly forum atmosphere.

Government

--Valiturus and Remlin have been confirmed as the new Co-Directors of the Foreign Affairs Department. The addition of Valiturus has led to an impressive rise in FA activity and communication with our allies and friends. We are very happy to have Val join the team of Nasicournian Officers.

--Nasicournian voters (with nearly record turnout) are in the process of confirming Biyah as the new Chief Editor of NasiNews. Nasicournia mourns the loss of the department creator, Stoned Smurfs, and hopes that he will some day return to us in full force. In the meantime, we thank Biyah for stepping up to tackle this hefty job, and welcome him to Office.

--Gasponia and Valiturus have been confirmed as Editors of NasiNews, to continue their excellent work in coverage of news both Nasicournian and international. Contact them if you would like to get involved/have a story you'd like to see covered, etc.

--CFUS has joined Katangara as a confirmed Minister of Role Play. A nomination long overdue, CFUS has the support of our voters in his continuation of talent and skill in the art of role play and getting our newcomers acquainted with this integral part of Nasicournian life. We offer him our congratulations!

Foreign Affairs

--Nasicournian citizens are currently voting on the proposal of an alliance with the region Stars. Since the Revolution in the North Pacific began, we have enjoyed excellent relations with the residents of Stars, and have found that we have a lot in common in principle and interests. This vote looks to pass by large majority quite soon.

--We are also voting on the solidification of our alliance with WWSETI, a request which was recently renewed by the leaders of this fine region. With strength in both role play and defending, we also expect this alliance vote to pass and be put into effect quite soon.

--The FA Directors are currently working on the finalization of an alliance proposal with the region Abyss, a vote which also received majority support in our region. After a long time of diplomatic communications with this honorable region, we believe closer relations would be beneficial and fun for both regions.

--Investigation and discussion into the United Regions Alliance and their invitation to join their regional roster continues.

--Nasicournia has voted in favor of opening an embassy with Imperialis, to further communication between our regions. We have recently welcomed their diplomats to our forum, and look forward to learning more about them.

--Random Idiots has recently re-issued their alliance proposal to Nasicournia. Given events that have happened in the past week and the communication between our regions that has ensued as a result, this alliance is now being received with wide-spread enthusiasm. Once again record turnout on the vote is expected, and the alliance should be finalized by the end of the week. We are honored to pursue closer relations with the residents of this fine region, and thank them for their diligence for the truth and honorable dedication to setting the record straight.

--Nasicournia wishes to set the record straight concerning supposed hostility towards the RLA and ASE as a whole. Claims of such hostility existing are false, and our qualm has rested with a few members who recently attempted to impede upon regional sovereignty with propaganda in hopes of halting the alliance between Nasicournia and Random Idiots. We invite any RLA member or ASE resident who would like to see the events plainly and factually demonstrated on our forum in the Random Idiots Embassy to come on over and learn the truth for themselves. This also applies to any international diplomat who may have received an inaccurate statement in the ASE's recent Embassy updates indicating that Nasicournia is preparing a counter-propaganda offensive against the ASE or RLA has a whole. These accusations are completely false, and as stated, anyone interested in the truth is invited to visit the Nasicournian forum to see the events as they occurred with your own eyes.

We apologize for any trouble that the recent conflict has caused any of our allies; the problem is entirely ours and we do not wish for it to spill over onto foreign soil more than it has already been made to do so with the ASE Embassy reports.

Nasicournia also thanks her allies and friends, all of whom have remained extremely supportive of our region during this unfortunate situation.

--Nasicournia recognizes the speedy and fair process in which the trial of 1838 (a dual resident in Nasicournia known here as SWATH) has been completed by the PRP, and expects to see the full letter of the law exercised against the individual who not only stole information from the Nasicournia forum, but also doctored a post in attempt to implicate us in activities with which we were not actually involved. We thank the PRP judicial system for recognizing the falsification of the doctored evidence in a fair and responsible manner.

--Residents are currently discussing the proposal of an alliance with FCSTO/AFCS/FCS, whose residents have recently touched us with strong support of our region in times of turmoil. This recent outreach, combined with very similar principles in regards to democracy and defending, has Nasicournia working on an alliance proposal to soon forward to the leaders of the FCSTO regions.

--With a growing Foreign Affairs Department and a new dossier of talented and friendly Ambassadors, Nasicournia is currently actively seeking to establish relations with other like-minded regions with similar interests and principles to our own. --Nasicournia contains 188 nations, with our immigration region, Gateway to Nasicournia holding 49. We have resumed recruiting in the last couple of days and offer a warm welcome to the immigrants who will soon be joining us soon.

--NasiCorps has decided to institute a new defending system in order to increase mission success and efficiency. NasiCorps has defended or liberated over 40 regions since this system was enacted. As always, NasiCorps soldiers have their UN nations stationed outside of the region and ready to fight for the sovereignty of innocent regions in need.

Government

--Goobergunchia II has been confirmed as the new Editor in Chief of NNNS(Nasicournia News Services), after Biyah's regretful resignation. We also welcome Asutaneku, IllumiNations and Damyr to the NNS crew.

--We also mourn the resignation of SuperVegeta who has chosen to relinquish most of his positions in Nasi. He has decided to keep his Nasicounian Officer status and we are very happy he is staying with us.

--A call for a new Gateway to Nasicournia Delegate election has been submitted. Our current candidates are John Ashcroft Land and Hrmmm. The polls are scheduled to open soon, and we await its results with anticipation.

--The long awaited Invader/Defender Convention on Espionage and Warfare has concluded. Over the past month various regional leaders have constructed a fine document at the Meritocracy's forum. It is now ready to have nations become signatories. A full text of the Convention can be found here and if you wish to become a signatory, please post in this thread. Nasicournia is currently debating becoming a signatory and is leaning towards signing. It would like to encourage all its allies to at least consider doing the same. --The Nasicournia Foreign Affairs Department has been flourishing, as Nasicournia opens esmbassies with several great regions. We welcome Amor Fati Anagenesis, Spinward, Government and Zurich to our Diplomatic Center in hopes relations between our regions will improve.

Nasicournia Update: 12/5/06

We realize it has been a while since our last update, and apologize.

First off, we would like to welcome our regional founder, Pope Hope, back from an extended abscense. Although Real Life has once again restricted her internet usage, we look forward to having her return completely in the near future. Good luck with everything PH! :D

Nasicournia's population has increased considerably in the last months thanks to the hard working recruiters. After plummeting to a record low of 93, we have re-established our previous amount of 113 nations and hope to grow even further in the months to come. Along with the wave of new recruits, Nasicournia's activity level has risen considerably despite the current hiatus NationStates is experiencing. Welcome to all the new Nasicournians! :)

After signing a Non-Aggression Treaty with the Red Liberty Alliance earlier this year, Nasicournia has sought to re-establish relationships with defender regions we were previously at odds with. We have therefore proposed a Non-Aggression Treaty with the Allied States of EuroIslanders and hope our two regions can come to an agreement in order to reconcile any hostile relations. Details are still being discussed.

In response to Westwind's coup d'etat in our close allies of Equilism, Nasicournia has released a statement denouncing this new regime. We lend Equilism's Government in Exile(Commonwealth of Equilism) our support in their fight against tyranny. Nasicournia's statement can be viewed on both the Government in Exile and Equilism's regional forums.

Nasicournia would also like to recognize her new friends and allies from the west pacific, Zurich, Random Idiots, Rohan, The YoungWorld and Commonwealth of Solaris. Nasicournia is always looking for new regions they can call friends.
