Freezing Cold Water - December 17, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
A New Voice for Canada
- Vote FCW for Minister of Foreign Affairs

Hello my Fellow Nations of Canada:

For those who don't know me, I am Freezing Cold Water aka. FCW. I have been in this region for a fairly long time. In the time I have been here, I have ran in two elections and lost but have been appointed as Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs, President of the CSA and the ambassdor to TPC. Thank you to all of you that supported me in the last election and those who who have had confidence in me that they have decided appoint me as their deputies and/or other positions. Thank you!!

As a nation in a region, I call Canada, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the cabinet position as Minister of Foreign Affairs. I still remember the last election that I ran, but after a long and close race, I lost to the experinced and the incumbent, Beaver Country Canada. I believe it is time to have some new blood in this ministry and I want to be the one do it. In my speech I will focus on three main qualities/skills that I have and I believe are important in this position.

Accountability

You may think why being accountable is important. First, I will encourage the cabinet to be more open will issues that deal with the good of the region. I also think it is very important that the ambassdors post updates about their embassies.

Friendiness/Respect

In any country big or small, friendiness towards our allies and enemies is vital. You ask enemies, why FCW? I say even though they may not agree with us or we not agreeing with them, I still believe that they should be treated with respect.

Listening

I believe it is very important to be able to listen to others. I will listen to your concerns, suggestions, or comments that you may have. Anything that is on your mind, just let me know, and I will try to make things right, so you can be open with me.

I like to negiotate with different people and places, my contacts and their contacts. I make friends fairly easy and I can tell which reigions/nations will be the most important to our region. I like to be around people and people have told me that I am a joy to be around. I also will not settle for anything but the best, not the best for me, but the best for you. I will ask you before I do anything, I will also make sure your desires are met.

If you vote for me, I know I will be not only happy but I will help us move this region forward. Please give me the chance.

I ask for support in January, 2005.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me and I will reply asap. Thank you!!

Yours Truly,
Freezing Cold Water

If elected Foreign Affairs Minister what goals both politically and economically would you strive for in the House of Commons?

How would undemocratic regions of nationstates be approached and would their be a push to establish democracy in that perticular region?

Some goals I would strive for in the House of Commons, are:

1) More Accountability/Openness
2) More active nations
3) More political parties
4) More active embassies

I would approach undemocratic regions the same with all region. I believe it important that everyone is treated equally even if they believe in a different system of government.

Yes, there would be a push to establish democracy in their region, only if they want to. Whatever they decide, I will respect their decision, but they want democracy, I would be happy to help them in any way possible but I will ask the region of Canada for their input before I make any decisions.

FCW, we've seen very little of you over in TPC recently. Do you feel you will be able to put in the time needed to do this job?

I know, I'am very sorry about.

Yes, I feel I will be able to put the time needed to this job effectively because I like to be a leader and I like to talk with other nations and regions but if I cannot handle it and/or the cabinet/nations of this region are unhappy with what I have done in this ministry, I will be happy to resign or step aside and give up the position to someone who can handle it.

What are your opinions of the gutting of inactive embassies?

Would you take the time to write a standard bweezy style embassy report once every 2 weeks that ambassadors would be able to copy and paste into our embassies? If not do you think it is a feasable idea to support a system such as this?

What specific actions do you propose to take towards achieving these goals?

My opinions of gutting embassies: First, I don't like using the word gutting to get rid of inactive embassies.

I plan to try to get old/inactive embassies active again. I think we should have should have a Embassies History forum, where we can put inactive/old embassies there till they come back and/or we want to permanently delete them. That way the nations can still view them.

Yes, I would be will to take the time to write a standard Bweezy style embassy report once every two weeks that ambassdors would be able to copy and paste into our embassies, but I am worried I am not a really good writer and plus it may not be as good as Bweezy but I will be happy to give to it a try. If I need to ask some one (deputy) to write it, I would be happy to delegate the task to someone else.

Yes, I have stated that these are my goals, some specific actions I propose to take towards achieving these goals are:

1) Encourage the cabinet to let non-cabinet to vote on important issues. Publishing the reports and proposals so nations can view them and vote on them.
2) Encouraging nations to run for cabinet positions, to get involved in the forum and explore what it has to offer.
3) Encouraging nations to start or join parties to express their views and opinions.
4) Encouraging the regions of the embassies to post updates weekly, visiting them every month to ask them how it going, and what we need to improve on.
