Hey there. I've decided to try for a second term as Minister of Justice. I've tried to be very active in cabinet, and- expect for a few dissapearances- I think I've done so. I've (with some help from Chex and DH) pushed a constitutional amendment through to referendum, helped Bweezy fix an error in the Conflict of Interest Laws, and just generally tryed to be active.
My plans for the next term mostly revolve around drafting a UN resolution- I've recived some PMs from nations asking if I have any plans for that. Not really, but if someone has an idea, I can work out a resolution. I'll also try to continue with Bweezy's idea of a Canadian Nationstates Award.
The primary role of the Minister of Justice is to draft laws. Do you feel the MoJ has any role in assisting with interpreting the laws when there is a dispute?
What is your feeling on how laws should be carried out? Should they be followed to the letter or is complying with the general intent sufficient?
In the issue with defining the minimum campaign period, do you support any of the proposed amendments? Do you have any of your own recommendations on how to define the campaign length?

To be quick, yes, but the laws (in some cases) can be interpreted different ways by different people, and I think it is up to the popular majority to decide the offical view. Just because I see something differently dosen't mean I'm right. Majority rules.

I belive that the general intent is good enough. As in the dispute with this election, nobody had noticed untill it was too late. As DH said, it technically was illegal, but things just couldn't have worked under that time frame.

I don't belive there should be an ammendment. I think this was a one time mistake, just because everyone was too busy to notice. After all, this is a game, and RL interferes.
If rules can be followed loosely such as the calling of this election, how can we be sure that Canadian laws will not be breached in the future?
Is their any specifics to a proposed U.N resolution at this time?

You can't. The thing about Canada is that it takes most of cabinet to do anything. No one nation can postpone the election, no one nation can destroy the consitution. Unless the cabinet (or a majority of nations) choose to do something, it won't be done.

Nope. I've got a complete mind blank as to what to base it on. <_<
