I note we have one person running for two positions - the constitution does not specifically prohibit this from occurring.
Once cabinet is elected, it may want to discuss whether this is a problem that needs rectification, or if this is just fine as is.
For the time being, since i have no authority to prevent people from running for two positions, people will be permitted to run for more than one position (unless others out there have other ideas on the subject)
so that means someone can hold two cabinet positions?
Unless Cabinet changes the law in its first session, I guess the answer is yes. I suspect that is something that will have to be dealt with. This raises many questions - does a person who holds two portfolios have two votes on any issue? How is participation of more people in the region get affected by persons holding multiple jobs?
This obviously was not contemplated when the constitution was drafted (though, in hindsight, it should have been).
It will likely have to be specifically addressed early on in the new mandate.
If the nation had more than one vote that nation would have a lot of power since there is only a handful of positions. I guess it would encourage people to step up and run for a cabinet position. Most definitely would need to addressed immediatly after the elections.
