Title: BCC For MoFA!
Description: The best job I can do, I will do!

Beaver-Country-Canada - October 3, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
Welcome one and all!

I'm Beaver-Country-Canada, and I'm here again, running for Minister of Foreign Affairs!

I've done some hard work this past term, but I enjoyed it immensely, and I wish to continue working with this wonderful country! Its been a fun term, and I loved travelling around to all of our embassies!

If you elect me again, I will cater to your needs! This job is hard work, but that's what I do best at.

Elect BCC for MOFA!

Hello BCC

You should say Re-Elect since you are the incumbent.
I thought you should know.

Anyway, How would you go about fixing the "slump" in the embassies we've had die?

Beaver-Country-Canada - October 3, 2004 11:39 PM (GMT)
I've already been trying to fix it, and I go about that as we speak! I have spoken to several embassies and Minister of Foreign Affairs in our embassies in other regions, and they have agreed to send new ambassadors.

Until the elections, I continue to work on this, and if I am re-elected, I will continue after!

Damn, beat me to it!

Well ok then, can we get an update on the situation? See the House of Commons for details.

Do you plan to continue with current policies, or do you have any new plans?

Cancadia - October 4, 2004 07:42 AM (GMT)
Greetings Beaver Country, best of luck in your campaign.

My question is;
I've heard in some regions in my travels that some consider Canada to be too isolationistic at times by not affiliating directly with any large orginizations such as the ADN or NPO for example. While the decisions to distance ourselves from such groups gives us an air of non-offensiveness it also has the downturn effect of Canada being unwilling to deal with the international community.
What will you do to further raise Canada's profile in the international community?

Regards,
Cancadia

Another question: When do you see Canada going on the next recruiting drive? Also, what size do you want to see Canada reach by the time the next election rolls around. how realistic are your goals and what would you do to ensure this size be reached and then maintained? Whats your opinion on this idea: Non Nationstates recruiting for Nationstates AND the region?

Hello all.

I will answer your questions, ASAP, however I first have some beating-of-my-head-against-a-wall to do, then some computer fixing to do, then some RL things to take care of.

ASAP! Promise!

I'm here! RL has returned to normal.

Canada's profile in the international community is, for the most part, established. We constantly receive alliance propositions, and we have over 10 true embassies established in other regions. If anything, I will visit the embassy boards more often, and if perchance I see a Canadian-looking nation, I will invite him/her to Canada!

Yes, you can. As soon as I have finished with the embassies (which should happen sometime tonight or tomorrow) I will update in the HoC!

QUOTE (Almonaster)

I have no new plans to change current policies -- they are well rooted and established, and I am not the laywer to mess with them now! :) However, I may ask Cabinet's opinion on some different changes (eg. ambassadorships etc) that I have been thinking of, as soon as I have worked all my ideas out.

QUOTE (Popo(second time))

When do you see Canada going on the next recruiting drive?

Recruiting drives are not just a matter of foreign affairs, but also a matter of cabinet and of regional affairs. The cabinet may go soon to do a recruiting drive; I do not know when exactly we will go.

We are already a fair size, and growing every day! If nothing else, I wish to see Canada continue to grow as it has been, not to just receive a bunch of nations all at once. This way it is subtle, but more effective in my opinion. I do not have a definite size for Canada; we have always had a changing population, and we always will -- I wish to see Canada running smoothly and continually, and that is truly all.

Whats your opinion on this idea: Non Nationstates recruiting for Nationstates AND the region?

I think that's a great idea! I have already tried to recruit non-NS friends to come to Canada, and it works out great usually! They may not always stay in Canada, but they are always happy with the game!

Any more questions, I will answer as soon as I receive them! Thank you very much for your time!

My understanding for all the ministers is that NOTHING can be done without cabinet approval. But my understanding is that recruiting drives should be majority organized by our MoFA, as it is a Foreign Affairs area.

Understanding this, when would YOU personally like to see the next drive?

If elected: By the end of your term where do you see Canada's population stabilizing

Hopefully soon, as I wish to participate in it! (This will be my first recruiting drive!) The Cabinet was talking of it earlier, but it has been pushed down for more important issues. Hopefully once elections are over, we can bring it up and begin one!

Our population is currently over 400, possibly closer to 500 (OOC: the NS site isn't working for me, so I have to guess at the moment.) I would hope Canada will continue to grow, and not stabilize out! We have many great nations in this region, and I wish to continue bringing them in!

If I wanted the population to stabilize, however, I would like to see it stabilize between 500 and 600 nations. This seems like an ideal size to me.
