Description: Freezing Cold Water
Freezing Cold Water - October 3, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
Please Elect FCW for Minister Of Foreign AffairsHello Nations of Canada!
I am Freezing Cold Water aka.FCW. First of all, I would like to thank DrunkHosers for letting me be Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs and Beaver Country Canada for letting me be the ambassdor to The Proletariat Coalition.
As a member of a great region called Canada. I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the cabinet position as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Last election, new to the region, I lost to an experinced and incumbent, Beaver Country Canada and ended up in a distance third place. Times have changed now and I want to be able to represent the nations of Canada. Even though, I believe the current minister is doing a great job but I think it is time to have a change and have new ideas for us.
I believe I am very capable of taking this job as well because I like to negotate with people and places, my contacts outside this region, and their contacts. I easily capable of making new friends, and finding out which people are going to be the most helpful to our region, and allow us to gain a powerful and respectable reputation in the world. However, not everyone in this region may want that, and I will hear all opinions, no matter how small or how large before I act. I will work for you, work for the people of this region. And I will make sure your desires for this region are met. I also enjoy being around people and doing this will help me be around people.
If you vote for me, I will listen to your concerns. Please give me a chance to help this Great region of Canada and to be able to prove myself.
I ask for your support on October 14th to 17th.
Thank you for reading this message. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me and I will get back to you asap. Thank you.
Yours Truly,
Freezing Cold Water

If I was voted in, I would not maintain my current ambassadorial position(s) because it would be too much work. I would only maintain my current ambassadorial position(s) if I had to.
Thank you for the question(s). :)

To fix the slump in the embassies we've had die, I would encourage the Founder and/or the UN Delegate to make embassies with us and to be active. I would tell them to replace their ambassdors that are inactive and/or not doing their work. I believe it is important to have allies with other each is more important then anything.

what if the delegates are unable or unwilling to cooperate?

If they are unable or unwilling to cooperate, I stop ties with that region, I think if they are not willing or unable then they are not serious about having an embassy or being an ally to us.

You indicated that you felt it was time for a change - what new ideas and policies would you bring to the office?

Some new ideas and policies that I would bring to the office are having active ambassdors and active embassies. I want everyone to be as active as they can be, but I know that life can get busy. I also plan to renew ties with regions we once had an alliance with. That is my plan. I thank you for the question.

Greetings FCW, best of luck in your campaign as well.
My question is the same to you as it is your current competition;
I've heard in some regions in my travels that some consider Canada to be too isolationistic at times by not affiliating directly with any large orginizations such as the ADN or NPO for example. While the decisions to distance ourselves from such groups gives us an air of non-offensiveness it also has the downturn effect of Canada being unwilling to deal with the international community.
What will you do to further raise Canada's profile in the international community?

Another question: When do you see Canada going on the next recruiting drive? Also, what size do you want to see Canada reach by the time the next election rolls around. how realistic are your goals and what would you do to ensure this size be reached and then maintained? Whats your opinion on this idea: Non Nationstates recruiting for Nationstates AND the region?

I hope to see Canada go on a recruitment drive after the elections are finished.

I expect to see Canada with a size of about 415 nations by the time the next election rolls around.

My goals are very realistic and to ensure this size is reached and then is maintained I will give out rewards for recruiting.

My opinion about this: I think it is a Great idea, we need all the help we can get.

To raise our profile in the international community, I will promote Canada and encourage people/nations to find out about Canada has to offer.

The problem isnt with recruiting. There are always tons of volunteers generally ready to help out with a well organized recruiting campaign. The problem is keeping the recruits, and getting them active on the forum.
You also skipped some of the question.
And isn't the region already over 415 nations? How is reverse-recruiting going to help the region "grow"

Sorry MrPopo, I will answer them now:

No, the region is not already over 415 nations, it has about 397 nations. I think reverse recruiting will help the region grow in size by we are getting more people to play nationstates and in turn we can encourage them to join the region of Canada. We have people that don't play NS because they don't want to and/or they don't know about it, so we can tell them how much fun it is to play.

I know that there is not a problem with recruiting. The way we can keep recruits and get them active on forums is by:
- Telling them that everyone makes a different
- Telling them everyone is needed to make things work
- Telling them that they have an equal chance to help
- Telling them there are alot of things to do in the region of Canada
- Telling them we have kind people willing to help them at anytime
- Etc
Sorry, about what happened, MrPopo.
I hope that helps. :)
