Title: Questions about Canadian Policy

DSSSG - September 15, 2004 11:17 PM (GMT)
First question : Has Canada any policy on one of the major aspect of the game : Invaders/Defenders "war" ? Are Canadians willing to engage in this aspect or not ?

Second question : What's the policy of Canada on the matter of non-democratic regions ?

1. Canada does not involve itself in the invader/defender side of this game. We do not participate in region crashing, though on occasion we have helped in defence. It would depend entirely on the circumstances. But we do, and will, offer our services in a mediatory role.

2. We have no official policy on non-democratic regions. But yes, Canada does support the idea of democracy in the NS world, and we will not open diplomatic relations with an undemocratic region.

I have a question if you don't mind me asking; how would Canada characterise itself politically? Leftist, rightwing, centrist, other?

My personal view is that most people tend to be centre-left here. There is the occasional conservative, and a larger number of more hard core leftists. This region tends not to be all that ideologically based, we seem to be more concerned about the traditional Canadian ethic of "Peace, Order and Good Government".

Others may disagree with that characterisation though.
